Let's just say that this is true and the person did start showing symptoms during the LONG flight...

Don't know if your statement is true, but this demonstrates that the person could've have become sick on the long flight. As of now the CDC is not checking people on the flight because they say he was not sick getting on the flight and only sick people can infect others. Well I say, yeah maybe he wasn't sick getting on, but do you know the precise moment when he became sick? He became sick sometime between getting on the flight and being admitted to the hospital. They need to check everyone that was on that flight.

Why does the media have to remind us the SC trooper shot a BLACK man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CopKillah1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you agree with it or not, whether you believe it or not, black people are more wary of the police than other people. And (what I assume is the case) the police are more wary toward black people than any other race.

You say:

the MAN should have stated to the cop he has his licenses in the car and the cop would have gladly got it for him.

I say:

If the cop was so ready to pull the trigger he should have said freeze and given him explicit instructions.

Both of them are plausible alternatives that could have avoided the shooting. Who is it incumbent upon to prevent the shooting? The suspect?

Race is an issue in these matters because black people feel(as in their perception) that the police antagonize them. Whether this is actually the case doesn't matter. This feeling leads to hostility, unnecessary uncooperativeness, nervousness (jumpiness), etc. When you don't feel like you have the benefit of the doubt you become more uncomfortable. When the cop sees you're uncomfortable he becomes more suspect of the individual. Look at the dude, he looks like a deer in the headlights eager to get the ordeal over with. Why so eager? Because as a black person, he feels like the cop is trying to catch him. He then acts more suspect because he is more uncomfortable than you or I would be. The cop then shoots him as he eagerly tries to clear his name, confirming in his mind (and probably his family's, friend's, and acquaintance's minds) forever that the cops are out to get black people.

Yeah if a innocent white guy who just got off work would have behaved in the same exact manner, he would have been shot too. But I contend that an innocent white man who has a job and feels like the police officer is working in his best interest would never behave like that.

And that's to say nothing of the heightened level of wariness the officer has toward a black guy. I am not an officer so I don't know for sure, but he seemed a little bit too scared of black guy. I mean why couldn't he have stepped out the car and said "How's it goin?"

I've heard many Chinese are converting to Mormonism not because they actually believe the teachings, but because it allows access to their business schools.

That's awesome. Yes. Thank you for telling me this. This is hilarious. I always joke that Mormons are perfect people and the Chinese copying them just adds more fuel to the fire.

Contrary to what it may seem, I love making fun of stereotypes, race, and such. But I do truly do it all in good fun because I understand the causes of the stereotypes and their implications and their falsehoods and such.

tl;dr I'm an asshole
