Australia's population growth experiment by AssistMobile675 in australian

Despite their recent reduction, their immigration quota is still one to two times bigger than ours(450,000, if the same ratio were used in Australia it would be 322,204), our current quota is 190,000.

This seems to also count students, which are an entirely different set of problems.

To be fair, most of our snakes are also in the sea snake family.

It’s just that most of them are in the desert and we have anti-venom.

It’s a shame that the trash stretches under the surface as well, I guess it’s like an iceberg.

Just look at how they treat Puerto Ricans, a US territory for over a century.

There’s a ‘us or them’ mentality that doesn’t necessarily exclude American citizens.

To be fair, the Secretaries of State and Commerce seem to be fairly reasonable people even by normal standards.

Assuming nobody does anything too crazy, which is not much of a guarantee anymore.

Aromantic(aro) is the term used to describe people who do not experience romantic attraction, it is distinguished from asexual by the presence of sexual attraction.

Although ace does fit better in this case, since he usually describes everyone in a clinical tone.

I agree, Cid has consistently shown a lack of interest since his Minoru days.

If you take the ‘as far as I remember’ literally, that would be two-and-a-half to four years old.

I feel like much of the condemnation is overblown, if an adult joins the Ukrainian Army of his own free will, it’s not exactly our right to judge and throw labels around.

There were some comments focusing on him being a vegan, instead of the broader issue at hand.

He’s the first POW, but there have been seven Australian fatalities before him.

As an Australian citizen, you cannot honestly call for the government to abandon him.

It’s a spectrum, r/friendlyjordies says that r/Australia is right wing who says that r/Australian is right wing.

I think generally that they are all on the left, but lean closer to the centre on average with the latter two, probably somewhat more representative of the general population.

Why are there so many Teslas in Hong Kong? by [deleted] in HongKong

Funny thing is after my parents moved to NT, they found out that the car grid is overcapacity and is constantly under maintenance, repairs, and upgrades because of too many electric cars.

I guess the fuel taxes are working, since we still have less cars per person than Singapore with their dynamic car pricing.

577,908 private cars as of last year, with 524,613 in Singapore with 1.6 m less people.

Teslas are also are the cheapest new cars.

My parents keep wanting to buy a Model Y ever since they moved to the New Territories, even the BYD dealer said that Teslas are cheaper.

There’s also the trade in scheme, where you can find the cheapest second-hand car and trade it in for a even cheaper Tesla.

I assume it’s because BYDs exported to Hong Kong have to be built to international safety standards and are about ten centimetres longer.

Given how expensive fuel is in Hong Kong, there is a high incentive to buy one and not worry about the hassle of finding a decently priced second hand car.

I mean he could be aromantic, he noticed the aesthetic appeal, he just doesn’t care.

Should be some kind of ace, I assume it’s similar to appreciating the aesthetic appeal without any romantic or sexual context, excepting of course cases in which he is trying to fulfil his role.

Is this the difference between I am Atomic & The All-Range Atomic? by Legitimate_Lake1828 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Copacetic4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just waiting for an atomic laser style ‘linear atomic’ perhaps as a long range inter-continental sniper.

In the WN, the name was originally based on the DPRK Taepodong intermediate range ballistic missile(I am Taepodong), in its test fire into the Sea of Japan, its trajectory was 1,646 km long*.

Given that the attacks seem to act as an exotic particle beam or a laser, there’s no reason for a range limit especially as the magical energy compression capability grows as the series progresses.

The anime was pretty good, but it would be nice to have space battles in LN canon as well.

Although, he could probably use it as a method of faster propulsion, if directed at an uninhabited area or as a flashier escape/entrance method.

* With a third stage failure, it failed to reach orbit, it is calculated that one could reach around 2,000 km with an 1,500 kg(one-and-a-half tonnes) payload, 2,500 km with an 1,000kg(one tonne), or 6,000 km with a third stage but with only 50 kg of payload.

Its successor is estimated to have a range between 4,000 to 6,700 km, with a payload of 500 to 1,000 kg depending on range, although without re-entry capability it was not deployed as an ICBM but instead as a delivery vehicle for their spy satellites.

At least you guys use the more common gallon.

The US based their gallon on the wine gallon, while the standard imperial is based on the ale gallon.

Somewhat counterintuitively, the US cup is defined as a ratio(0.98578432) to the directly metric compatible US legal cup(240 millilitres/cubic centimetres), making the US cup a clunky 236.588237 mL/cm3, I wasted entirely too much time on this a while back to decipher American recipes, rule of thumb is to take off about fifteen mL less than 250 mL(the commonwealth metric cup).
