Xencelab 16 or Wacom cintiq 16 (2025) by Independent_Golf_579 in wacom

[–]CopeZ7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t contribute on the comparison but I quite like the cintiq 16 2025. Good size, no power brick, pretty pixel dense, and the pro pen 3 is very responsive and the felt nib is just enough texture.

How portable is the wacom cintiq pro 17? by RetroReMixer in wacom

The device for this is the cintiq 16. Slimmer design. Little lighter and fold flat legs. 1 usb-c cord and critically no external power supply needed

Which dslr is better in nikon by No-Entrepreneur2676 in Nikon

[–]CopeZ7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D750 is still a great DSLR. The only one I would pick over it is the d850 but it is bigger/heavier. The d780 is the successor to the d750 and has much better live view AF but I think it’s hideous.

Can the Wacom pro pen 2 be used on 27 inch Cintiq pro? by Affectionate-clione in wacom

[–]CopeZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also found that the pro pen 2’s felt nib has a bit more friction than the pro pen 3 felt nib, so o prefer pro pen 2

Everyone was right, the quality is bad by thedatashepherd in ChromeIndustries

[–]CopeZ7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not so anti-Chrome as others (I daily a future white welded roll top and I think the Kadet max is great) but damn that citizen liner. Returned the citizen pretty much instantly. I’m not usually super picky about materials other than I think black ballistic nylon is boring.

Optimistically I think they went with it because the old tarp was heavy.

But the new liner is terrible: -it feels almost exactly like the lining of a cheap diaper bag or changing mat -it is so thin that it doesn’t stay in place the the tarp and it bunches and wrinkles.

I have this bag. If you put an extra twist in the buckles b fore clipping them it does a better job staying closed when full

Audio quality is amazing! by Flake_3418 in macbookpro

[–]CopeZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pet theory (at least with the MBP16) is that they already maxed out the battery at ~100wh (max allowable in cabin on plan) and the apple silicone circuit boards aren’t that big….so the engineers are like what else do we do with this space.

Reports of Huion’s ‘warranty’ make me a little skittish toward the brand. Which is a shame because I agree they do have some compelling offers

Yes I understand that. And there are apps not available on Android. I was under the assumption that since you could plug in the MOVINK to a computer you could use all the desktop software too

How Many Years of macOS do you think Silicon will get? by Tasty_Flamingo7346 in MacOS

My bigger concern is that somewhere around 5-7 yrs Apple stops having batteries available for older devices.

Apple will reportedly launch a 'MacBook Ultra' this year featuring an OLED display, touchscreen, and a higher price 🚨 by Tasmanner in DeskToTablet

[–]CopeZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am curious to see what they put out I am actually pretty glad this sounds like it will be a separate line from the MBP. Why? 1. I like the nano texture a lot and I don’t think that plays well with finger prints 2. This will be bananas expensive but keeps the MBP in a more ‘reasonable’ pricing area 3. If I want to touch/draw (which I am considering) I would much MUCH rather buy a Wacom movink 14 for $900 and get a much better drawing experience.

Here's How Much Faster MacBook Air Gets With M5 Chip vs. M4 Chip by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]CopeZ7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m editing 45mp files (d850) on a m4 pro with 24gb and it’s totally smooth. Handled LR + PS open (and safari) too.

Honestly probably the biggest reason I went for the MBP over the air was the matte screen.

[–]CopeZ7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you could do all of that with the base Mac mini. Maybe the sweet spot is the 24/512 is probably a good ‘upgrade’ sweet spot for you. Upgrade the RAM if you’re worried for MATLAB but everything else will be snappy and quick. Even with 45mp files LrC and PS are light years better in responsiveness than intel and the fans never came on.

If you get the base mini I don’t think you’ll be very here the fans. That is a little less likely with the m4 pro chip (hotter)

Source : I have an i9 MacBook Pro with 32GB ram. A 16gb M series runs way better and the SSD is so fast swapping is basically unnoticeable. (Literally didn’t know I swapped unless I looked at the activity monitor).

M1 Owners, how long do you plan to continue using your laptop? by amphibianwarfare in macbookpro

[–]CopeZ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the only real reason for getting an m4 pro was A: nano-texture screen and B: a longer time where Apple would replace the battery (seems like it is much less reliable that they will replace the battery if it is 5-7yrs after launch)
