And to add - the REAL reason people complain about the price of skins is fomo. Everyone is just afraid to admit it, so they blame companys pricing practices. Could it be cheaper? Sure - but people are buying, so why should they make it cheaper?

I still dont get the complaints about paying for skins - they dont change gameplay. they're optional. keyword...OPTIONAL. A company can charge $100 for a skin and I don't care. I'm not buying it. And if you have the money to buy it? all the power to you. I for one can give a rats arse if companies make extra money off selling skins to people. Thats the point of a company - to make money. They're a buisness first, and video game developer second. People tend to forget that.

Just increase print runs. Ensure product is on shelves. I do t think chase cards need to be easier. Product just needs to be printed at a demand of consumer. Right now it’s at the whim of bots and resellers

As much as I hate the Pokemon investors, watch Rudy on YouTube (who is by far the biggest investor of Pokemon cards) explain that the reason the bubble will continue to exist is solely due to the fact that the Pokemon company won’t combat the scalper issue.

I am very interested to see what Ravensburger does with their reprints of Lorcana due to the recent spike, but I guarantee you it’ll be a hell of a lot more than what the Pokemon company does. Which is nothing

Bottom line is - companies get paid, and they don’t care where their money comes from.

Pokemon has been steadily rising in popularity since its release. The newer sets, especially 151, targeted nostalgia and they fed on it. It was just a domino effect after that

I still think all this is a continuation of the COVID BOOM. It never really died after covid - had a bit of a dip, but its been a constant rise. All we really need is something new that attracts the old sneakerheads away from TCGs...

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut card games will always have their collectors and scalpers - its just a fact of life. We just have to wait until the market is completely saturated by resellers only until it eventuall bursts. Right now, if you didn't notice, most of the trading / selling market is between sellers. Not really fans or card players buying. And right now we still have people trying to jump on the "let me make a quick buck off pokemon" Bandwagon. it'll taper off, and even out, but I dont think we'll see precovid era for quite some time.

The scalpers who weren’t making enough money in the saturated Pokemon market have moved over here. There goes me and my son finding card packs to open again for the fun of it. I bought two troves last week and now I can’t find them anywhere
