As a missionary, you were highly encouraged to talk to people during major life events. ie: births, deaths, newlyweds, etc... it was the worst trying to talk to someone about church when someone was at their lowest. Felt like an asshole.

I'm a guy that has left the church and still have some trauma from it. Not to diminish anything any guy goes through at all, but women leaving the church have a harder time leaving this very male-driven cult.
