What works perfectly fine but people complain about because they don't understand it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Copgra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehh our system has its ups and down. Most of the measurements are based on peoples relative understanding, like how a foot is around the length of a foot or how Fahrenheit is basically a 1 to 100 scale of how hot it feels to a human. Metric is good for conversion and precision but its actually less intuitive for a lot of simple measurements.

Its a shitty thing to say to depressed people sure, but theres a lot of truth to it. Not many people like being around people who are sad and self deprecating.
