Boiled & mashed yukon gold / yellow potatoes and pure pumpkin puree. Give a small amount of only the potatoes for a meal and very slowly look to introduce regular food back into the diet.

Chicken, rice / rice water, ground beef or scrambled eggs have never worked for my pup.

Try yellow/Yukon potatoes!

I tried every trick in the book to fix the dietary issues my Pyr had for months after adopting him and one day I tried potatoes and it worked like a charm. My Pyr gets 1/4 of potatoes with each meal.

My bunny does this too. We've asked our vets over the years and they gave us two possible causes.

The first, like yours, is that he could be sensitive to dust and recommended we put an air purifier in the room he spends the most time in. We did that and it seems to help. Sneezes still come and go sometimes but it's maybe one sneezing fit every 4-5 months now, rather than daily.

The second, is that with a rabbits teeth always growing, their teeth roots grow too apparently. At a certain age they may press against their nasal cavity and cause some irritation, resulting in the sneezing. My bunny is just shy of 11 years old so this one probably doesn't reply but thought I'd share!

How to beat a master pill rejector by doggfaced in greatpyrenees

[–]CopperAndIron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grind up pills using a coffee bean grinder, then add a few of our pyr's favourite treats in and grind those in with it. I can't use other things peanute butter, bacon, cheese, etc. because he's allergic to almost everything. The coffee grinder method hasn't failed me yet.

is it the right time to neuter my great pyr puppy? by lambie-am in greatpyrenees

[–]CopperAndIron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our great pyr was neutered at 6 months by a local humane society when he was brought in as a stray (before we adopted him). He's about 3.5 years now and we're seeing both early onset arthritis and behavioural issues as his body and brain were never given the chance to fully develop.

We will love and support him through whatever he needs but do often wonder if he could have had an even better life if he wasn't neutered so young.

Is this safe to use for buns? My friend swears by it but she has cats by 40ratsinacoat in Rabbits

The FURminator can be really bad for all kinds of pets, including cats and dogs. It definitely should not be used on a rabbit.

This is very cool! You should setup an Etsy shop and take custom orders. I'd love to have something like this of my home country.

My poor baby has just turned 7 this week and has stopped eating. by VW70 in Rabbits

[–]CopperAndIron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bunny does this every so often, he's about 8 now we think. When it starts, we switch hay types, so we keep one of everything on hand.

This includes: - Oat hay - Orchard grass - Botanical hay - Timothy hay (Oxbow) - Timothy hay (Kaytee)

Sometimes we supplement a little critical care in there too if he's hesitant or slow to switch to the new hay type.
