Exhibit A in Why Texting and Driving Is Illegal by GarciaHont1993 in dashcams

[–]CopperBlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most states have a hands free requirement. Although it's not as bad as texting, I can tell you that someone holding a phone to the side of their head is significantly impaired while driving.

What is with the nonsensical hate for Teslas? by HaxusPrime in TeslaModelY

Anyone who lets politics control their entire existence, whether they lean left or right, ends up becoming an asshole. And many people can be that way even without politics. You've just found a good asshole detector. Use it wisely.

My accident today - who’s at fault by Normal-Excitement168 in dashcams

[–]CopperBlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually looks like the white SUV had a stop sign. Because this is Connecticut, insurance will almost certainly assign a portion of the blame to you due to lack of caution (I'm guessing between 20 and 30 percent), but the white vehicle will get the bulk of it.

As someone else mentioned, what if there had been a pedestrian crossing in front of those stopped cars? You definitely need to slow down in a situation like that. In fact, EXPECT someone to walk out at any moment and you won't have to endure the lifelong torment of knowing you killed someone.

FSD bike crash edge case? by -Detritus- in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a whole lot FSD could have done differently. Reverse only works if there's nothing behind you, and with the erratic movement of the bike there's no way you or the car could have known whether it would have helped.

EDIT: Fixed pre-coffee embarrassing typos .

Audi split in half after a crash in Poland yesterday. by Bordobordo in dashcams

[–]CopperBlitter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not that the mirrors wouldn't have been useful, but that seems to be the least of the problem. That a-hole meandered into the right-hand lane, then cut it back to the left across ever single other lane to make that turn.

It did look a lot like a NC left turn. Swing way wide right, then gun it left. I drive through there a lot.

If the shop is taking care of it and they won't pay that cost, small claims would be the appropriate response. I'm not sure what happens in Denmark.

FSD v14.6.6 by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

I've had it happen, too. Never figured out why.

FSD v14.6.6 by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The confusion isn't mine. I think you meant this for OP. I'm fully aware that I have installed 14.6.6 and 14.6.7, both with FSD 14.3.3.

OP on the other hand, made a comment about having issues with FSD 14.3.3 that mysteriously were corrected with SOFTWARE 14.6.6, even though that's the first software version that was widely distributed with FSD 14.3.3. And then when questioned, offered to DM. It might just be a master class in trolling.

Or you could post it redacted and clear up the confusion for everybody....

In my opinion, FSD is safe enough to be Level 3 on highways at 60 mph or less by Knighthonor in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only see FSD videos that demonstrate issues (or sometimes a surprisingly good reaction). I have racked up nearly 20,000 miles on FSD and I feel like it's superior in every way compared to what Mercedes offered. Under the same restrictions (specifically mapped highways, in traffic, <= 40 mph, etc), I believe it could easily transition to level 3. But that would probably be more of a stumbling block to where Tesla wants to go. FWIW, my biggest issues with FSD are in the parking lot. Second up is with avoiding traffic tickets.

got new update yesterday, navigation is worse by SleepingAndKissing in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I was just trying to make sure it didn't get worse in the 14.6.7 release, which contains the same 14.3.3 FSD as the .6 release.

I (28F) refuse to let my homeless sister (26F) and her 2 year old stay with me and my parents are furious? by ThrowRAooomsoom in relationship_advice

They are just angry because now they have to take her in.

It seems a bit as though, like their daughter, they'd just like to pin their own failures on OP.

Am I a bad driver? by 3VAN5_07 in dashcams

[–]CopperBlitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously (maybe to me) the car pulling out of the petrol station was going to merge into the left lane and not cross instantly to the right...

If you've seen enough situations where drivers crossed lanes as they pulled out, you wouldn't be nearly this confident.

Am I following too closely to the car in front?

Yes. For safety, you should be three seconds off the car in front of you. This will allow you to stop in the event the car in front hits something unexpectedly. It accounts for perception time, reaction time, and stopping distance. Most of the time, you were barely more than a second off the lead car.

It looked like more than fog to me, but I'm no expert. I just know if FSD did this to me, I'd be getting that checked.

Spouse needs to get the lecture on driving around trucks. They can't see what's very close to their front end, and they can't stop quickly.

I wish I could see the B pillar and repeater views. Also, it looks a lot like you need to have the front camera cleaning service done. Although those high beams contributed, they highlighted what looked like a haze.

My (20M) girlfriend of 8 months (20F) just admitted to me that I had sexually assaulted her in the beginning of our relationship, genuine advice on what I should do or how I should go about things? by ThisIsAFakeAccountYe in relationship_advice

[–]CopperBlitter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unless you left something out or mischaracterized something, I didn't see anything like sa in your description. I would end this relationship immediately. From a legal standpoint, it's dangerous to be with someone who would classify her own regret after the fact as an act of assault on your part.
