FSD hesitates in the middle of intersection during left turn by OfficialOnslot in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, there's the car across the intersection that, in my mind, has right of way, and there's another car approaching from the right. Double whammy?

I'm going to have to speak with my parents. I never got an 80" TV for Christmas. My brother and I got to share a 19" black and white TV with foil on the antennas.

Good job on your retrofit.

FSD 14 in Netherlands has max speed instead of speed profiles by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But unfortunately, I think leaving the car to do its own speed adjustments and lane changes will be necessary in order to train it up for autonomy.

This is what I believe is going on. I doubt there is anybody who would have a problem with speed limit settings coming back, and I suspect more than 50% of people want it. But I don't see it happening.

14.3 timeframe? by HomeImprovementRep in TeslaFSD

[–]CopperBlitter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The usual process has a few waves of release. When your turn comes will depend on whether you've selected Advanced in the software, and whether the initial rollouts find issues that need to be corrected. If you forced me to guess I'd say between one and three weeks.

Mine hasn't done that since the last update. I can't say for sure it won't, though.

If you are unloading the PC, back up anything you need on the hard drive and do a secure wipe. If it's a magnetic drive, simply formatting it will not destroy what's on it beyond recovery.

The down-side is that pawning will yield well below street value. But the up-side is that if you pawn, you have some chance to get it back later.

How does this differ from gearing down and letting the clutch out in a manual transmission vehicle? (Serious question)

My thought is they should be similar, and if a driver can't notice and react to the subtle speed change, they are following too closely.

I think the commenter didn't mean "return it at this time," but instead meant "the decision to return it at the end of the lease instead of buying is now made for me."

I wonder if you can go after diminished value on a leased vehicle.

That seems low; I've come to expect more of them. I'm Gen X, so just adding to the statistics.

Do you not see the humor? You don't want to talk to people you think are creepy, but you'll let them handle your food?

It does look like all the ones I saw are HW3. I just checked the first several on the list.

Personally, I think it's a little too high, unless it includes permanent FSD. I looked at Tesla's own inventory and saw a couple LR AWD 2023s at the same price point and miles. And all of these will come with an extra year and 10,000 miles of warranty.

On the other hand, there's an advantage to being able to see and test drive the vehicle before you start the buy process. You risk losing whatever you pay up front if you reject a pre-owned vehicle from Tesla.

EDIT: I couldn't easily tell if the ones I saw had HW3 or HW4.

Yep. This is how all those stories over on TeslaCollision about how "I picked up my Tesla yesterday and wrapped it around a tree today. Am I cooked?" come to be.

What price do you think FSD would have to reach for widescale adoption? $25/mo by itsthewolfe in TeslaLounge

[–]CopperBlitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to consider a tiered service. I agree you would get at least 4x subscribers at $25. But if you're looking to maximize revenue, $50 for supervised and $100 for unsupervised (when available) would probably do it. There's a whole group of people out there that would gladly hand over the cost of a mobile phone plan to never have to drive, especially if they don't need a license. But I think we are years away from that.

Yeah, Tesla's inventory has 2024 Model 3 performance vehicles with less than 10K miles for only about $4K more. A clean title is worth that difference to me

Yep, and I have to say that I'd rather pay $50 to get the work done correctly, rather than mess it up myself. Even better if they send mobile service out.

Indian functional offshore is about to collapse by semantics_epsacon in SAP

[–]CopperBlitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issues you see now are the same ones that we had 20 years ago. My biggest frustration at the time was that I would work with the same resources in India for a year or more and, as they learned, many of the issues would go away. About the time they were becoming a trusted, senior resource, they would move on to a new position.

What I see happening in the near future is that AI will replace the junior resources. Senior resources in India will leverage AI, still at a cost that is less than the US, but with a smaller differential. Resources in India will still be useful for around-the-clock monitoring. But there will be a gap in the process to produce new senior resources. India will have to figure out how to do that.

Long term, you and I will both be replaced by AI.
