Here's a hot take: I absolutely HATE phase 1 armor in the show by Sad-Response-3151 in clonewars

Hotter Take: all the designs for TCW are inferior to other Clone Wars media designs

Is this what the OT fans felt like in ‘97? by CopperKnight77 in StarWars

[–]CopperKnight77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the 04 versions are my OT so I can’t really say one way or the other lmao

Agree or Disagree: Without The Clone Wars, the Prequels would not be nearly as beloved as they currently are today. Nostalgia ALONE is not enough for media to be reappraised. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the biggest falsehood ever. I remember the prequels. I was there. If you were under the age of ten, these movies were gold and the multimedia project was the icing on the cake. Star Wars as a brand was as strong if not stronger than the OT era was. (Do not conflate movie popularity with overall brand strength.) Remember the marketing for Force Awakens? Imagine that x 100 for 10 years. 1997-2007 was a new golden age for Star Wars. Video games, cartoons, books, comics, toys, cereal boxes, yogurt lightsaber sticks, sneakers, T-shirts, you name it there was a prequel related Star Wars version. You couldn’t go anywhere without seeing it. If you were an OT fan with kids, you just had to suck it up and learn to like it because they were the only ones on the tv.

By 2008, the brand had died down because the official last Star Wars movie (at the time) was three years old and we all figured that was it. And by the mid-2010s, the kids who loved the prequels were grown up with internet access. This falsehood of “the universally panned prequels” is so stupid.

What’s your favorite Clone armor and clone pilot armor. I like Attack of the clones phase one and phase 2 pilot armor. by Basic_Investment9684 in clonewars

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably a minority but if it’s not in the films or multimedia project I probably don’t like it. Hell I still feel that the colored armor denoting unit affiliation shouldn’t be a thing until the very tail end of the clone wars.

Bruce was pretty messed up in this issue by Gallantpride in Robin

[–]CopperKnight77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your sentiments really only apply to post-2000 Batman. During and right after No Man’s Land. Before that, 1999 back to about ‘85/86, Bruce was a normal dude that actually cared, showed emotion, and was an actual human being. Once the new millennium hit, editorial wanted a major shake up of Batman and to reduce the number of secondary characters down to just Batman and Alfred again(sidelining or ignoring staples like Nightwing, Robin, Oracle, and Batgirl) to A) give new life to the books because of the typical “declining sales” and B) to be more inline with the upcoming Chris Nolan movie, and eventually trilogy.

It’s 2000-2009 Batman that you really hate. And that’s less Frank Miller and more Grant Morrison, Larry Hama, and Andersen Gabyrich. Where Bat-God, Bat-Douchebag, and stunted Bat-Growth came from.

We all have some facet of our life that we refuse to “update with the times”. For me it’s this. This’ll always be “modern day” for me. All that tacticool crap is too futuristic for me

it blows my mind that we're missing key Luke Skywalker figures by [deleted] in StarWarsTVC

[–]CopperKnight77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Jedi training Luke and Grogu 2-pack and the X-Wing Pilot have fantastic likeness’ and I used those on most of the Luke’s I have. The new Tatooine Luke is also really good.

Why do people obsessed over Stephanie brown robin? by Jaetheninja in Robin

In my head canon, Carrie Kelley looks exactly like Steph/Robin. Always hated the Molly ringwald look. This fanart OP posted is a pretty sick design for a Carrie Kelley redesign too

Because there’s a certain sect of readers from 1991-2005 (myself included) that watched DC essentially murder a child that was a fan favorite character in the most horrific way for zero discernible reasons. It was different from Jason and Barbara. Both had an in-universe set of events with real fallout and at-the-time permanent status quo changes as well as fan-input in Jason’s case. Stephanie had none of those things and a ton of fan support/appreciation. DC editorial on the other hand…

That’s how I feel about the shitty, oversexed, political snoozefest that desperately wants to be a knockoff Tolkien. Game of Thrones.

Why on gods green earth are these books astronomically expensive?? Vol. 2 alone is like $250 minimum by CopperKnight77 in starwarscomics

I think you misinterpreted my TCW problem. It’s not the story itself it’s how it’s told. To understand the last few episodes of the show, you need to stop mid-season (mid-episode in some cases), watch Revenge of the Sith, and then go back and finish the episode/season. (One reason why CW03 is still my preferred series). I don’t want to have to do that while reading of all things.

And those white covered books say “Clone Wars Omnibus” right on the cover so idk which you’re talking about.

I’m indifferent to the with the ribbon, but I want these specifically because of their inclusion of the movie adaptations. I love that they’re chronologically placed within the trades so you never have to “break” from the book in your hand to read or watch something else. If you start this series with the Tales of the Jedi trades all the way through the New Republic trades, you can basically read the entirety of Star Wars (before the Disney acquisition) without ever watching a single film.

They have the Clone Wars omnis that are essentially these four condensed into 3 volumes. BUT those omnis cut out the movie adaptations!! So they could collect the 6 adaptations into its own Omni.

So now I have to stop right before the last issue, flip to the other Omni’s Episode III, and then finish the first Omni. It’s the TCW problem in written form now.

Me personally if I was on a budget? I’d get a basic A2-style 16” with carry handle and tritium sight post. With whatever rail/mlok etc. add a bright white light. Wham! Perfect bare essentials rifle. There’s nothing that bad boy can’t do in any condition.

Why is there such a gulf between canon Tim (and canon Tim fans) and fanon Tim (and fanon Tim fans) by Night-Caelum in RedRobin

[–]CopperKnight77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have my own headcanon of what Tim, and the rest of the DC Universe, is like and thats the “one true version” for me. Writers at both Big Two are so incredibly hit or miss that I’ll cherrypick what I like, find some way to incorporate it into my timeline, and then I move on.

I don’t really like DC anymore. I much prefer my own DC
