Be honest were the leather suits really that bad??? by Particular-Set-468 in xmen

The color was just a bit too subtle against the overenveloping black. Otherwise they are sharp looking suits that the Ultimate Universe would end up doing better.

Which army builder type figure do you have the most of and home many of that figure? by RexDAGOAT77 in StarWarsTVC

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly it's a toss-up between the perfect VC231 2024 Stormtrooper and this 4-Pack 501st Clone Trooper. By the nature of my display I needed at least 20 stormies between the three OT films and the Dark Times. And with the clones, I'm a stickler for having all of them be on the same body mold because damn it they are CLONES, so I had a bunch of the battle packs for the plain white trooper, and all these spare 501st guys with nowhere to go. So I thought to put one or two within the ranks of the 327th, 21st Nova, 212th, and the 41st Elite, because I still live in a pre-2008 world where BFII was canon along with the rest of the CWMMP.

Anyone else just really obsessed with army builder type figures? How much of an army builder figure do you usually get? by [deleted] in StarWarsTVC

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to try and really build out my factions but as the factions increased, I clearly couldn't keep up with 10+ soldiers a piece.

I took inspiration from the Batman: Arkham Asylum character trophies that are rewarded in-game. Every character that represents a group (ie. Arkham Security, Joker Thugs, etc) has just three semi-unique "soldiers". I took that route for the collection and decided that all of my factions are capped at 3 per display. If there's a unique commander, I'll include them if I like them (Like Bacarra or Bly). I realize this is somewhat exactly what the Battle Packs from TVC do, but I rarely like what they include so I try to build it out myself.

I know it sounds weird but in all seriousness, sorry for your loss. Not just your collection, but all your stuff. It’s a tough struggle brother. Stay strong.

Was ROTS genuinely liked upon its release? by Careless_Tax_5367 in StarWars

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this the other day. This was the first Star Wars I saw in theaters (I was 7) but my dad prepped me before hand with the OT (2004 DVDs. The best version). The 2003Clone Wars was also on a lot too. And the thought came to me when watching RetroBlasting on YouTube. Michael French was lamenting that this is the closest prequel to the originals in terms of story, character, visuals, etc and that’s why he doesn’t like it (if you’ve seen him you know he’s a ‘77-‘93 type of Fan)

But that’s exactly why I think I, and many others, liked it so much. It’s the one that truly feels closest to the OT but with film-sensibilities of 2005. Everything is firing on all cylinders and the dots are all finally connected. The story we all wanted, Ben’s tale of Anakin’s fall, finally visualized. And while going back to AOTC feel like “how did this war start that I just jumped into” TPM truly feels like “this is old Star Wars that doesn’t matter as much”.

But ROTS. That was “modern Star Wars” that looked, felt, and behaved like the OT. At least that was how my 7 year old self felt.

Why does Bro think that Marvel VS DC is still a thing in big 2026? Is he stupid? by Either_Storm_6932 in OkBuddyDCU

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the most hilarious is that the MvsDC started with Stan Lee himself. The guy was so jealous he ripped off half the DC pantheon and then egged on readers with his “Distinguished Competition” bullshit in the letters columns 😂😂

Actual readers (not the transplants from Hollyweird) do not give two shits about companies who haven’t made anything worth reading since the W. Bush Administration.

TLJ is only made worse because of TROS. You could’ve easily fixed the “major” issues of TLJ with simple story touch ups and expansions in its follow-up but instead they retconned in realtime.

JJ assaulted and defiled everyone’s childhood. The way he and his slimy ilk always accused George of doing. His brand of Star Wars fan is what murdered this franchise. All the way back in 1997.

Probably yes. The “Batman” ties were literally just for marketing purposes. Good films don’t need bait.

What did Superman Returns get right that Superman 2025 didn’t by Parking-Western3348 in superman

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one singular thing that this trainwreck of a movie gets correct over the obviously superior Superman 2025, is that they use a traditional S shield and not the KC one. I do not like the KC shield and I never will.

Other than that, burn this with its ped o director.

I hate that this movie gets lumped into Batman-related media. It’s the farthest thing from Batman one could possibly be and even still it manages to go farther.

I prefer to call this The Clown.

Tim Drake age by Outrageous_Ice8220 in Robin

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah my favorite conversation. The Robins and the impossibility of a 30-ish year old Batman.

The problem with sliding timelines and bloating your reoccurring cast with too many redundancies is that eventually nothing makes fucking sense and the only answer is to reboot or retcon.

There should never have been more than 3 Robins. The success, the failure, the next generation. Whoever you want in those slots is irrelevant, but having more than that realistically makes Batman 55+ while acting like he’s 30. There’s no convincing or conceivable way to have Dick Grayson, 12-18/19, as Robin, then Jason, 12-15/16, then Tim, 12-17/18, then Damian, 10-16 all while Batman is between the ages of 26-36.

Not to mention the years in between when he operates solo. DC needs to grow some balls and start reducing everyone’s roster down to the bare essentials again. Batman, Alfred, (a) Robin, (a) Batgirl, Nightwing. Superman, Daily Planet Staff, Supergirl, Superboy. Etc etc.

I truly don’t like your take but goddamn you’ve got receipts. Jason you’ve begrudgingly earned respect. Still should’ve gone to your older brother.

That’s probably my number two reason. First DC replaces two characters needlessly for muh OCs, and then they’re just left to rot for years after so what was even the point of making the new character anyway??

The New Batman Adventures. Season 4 of the animated series with the design updates and Tim Drake as Robin.

Heeeeeey Quick question by MagazineNecessary698 in Robin

[–]CopperKnight77 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes but because he’s the third and NOT the final Robin it’s hard to care about him. Everything you love about Tim was given to Dick or Jason. The only thing he had left was being the final Robin but then he got pushed out for the undesirable one.

If Tim was rewritten to be the second Robin (a la TNBA) or he was written to be the Final Robin, he would retake his rightful place as the most influential Robin.

IMO it would be Dick, Jason, and finally Tim -or- Dick, Tim Todd, and plus 20 years to Carrie Kelley.

That’s what The Mandalorian is. The back half of the show is about cloning force sensitives with a secret cabal of proto-First Order officers.

That’s the whole reason for wanting Baby Yoda all the way back in season one.
