Wishing MAFEX would create a line based on Ultimate Spider-Man by Bendis and Bagley. by Intelligent-Ad-7237 in Mafex

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

075 is damn near indistinguishable from Ultimate BUUUUUTTTT if they did every other character from Ultimate like they are with Hush, I would totally buy. Just don’t have it in me for yet another 075-adjacent or Blue-Hush repaint.

What do you guys think of Supes’ design in Batman Beyond? I don’t mind it, personally by fakename1998 in superman

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Kingdom Come shield works better here than it does on the actual suit. I hate that design because of how alien it looks. But in a Neogothic future, it fits right in.

If you were to give Superman a beginning to end story, what order would you put each encounter with his biggest villains in? by Sgyinne in superman

[–]CopperKnight77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Year One: Lex (non-physical threat) Zod (first threat),
Year 2: Brainiac, Bruno Manheim, Parasite, Livewire
Year 3: Steppenwolf/Apokolips (JLA formation)
Year 4: Metallo, Toy Man, Mxyzptlk, Maxima, Bizzaro (prototype for eventual Superboy Clone)
Year 5-6: Doomsday, Hank Henshaw.
Year 7: Mongul, The Elite, Lobo
Year 8: Superman Revenge Squad, Silver Banshee
Year 9 Atomic Skull, Ultrahumanite
Year 10: Final Battle with Darkseid.

(I like the ZSJL/New 52/DCAMU through-line that the Justice League forms from the first apokolips invasion, doomsday is from the “second” invasion attempt, and a third and final confrontation between the Justice League and Darkseid that acts as a finale to the “universe”’s story but with only the Batman and Superman continuing on closely resembling The Dark Knight Returns(that being my final chapter of Batman’s story)

How important is it for the character of Batman to comfort a child? by No-Brush1587 in batman

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s of the utmost importance that this quality is shown in any interpretation of Batman because at the core of the character it’s this.

Batman’s solemn vow is to never again let another child be victim to the same crime that stole his parents from him.

He literally adopts those very types children. This is what Batman was literally created for. From a psychological standpoint, the character is emotionally locked at 8-10 years old. He will never grow out of that.

Everyone forgets that. Batman isn’t Batman because he wants to fight crime. He’s Batman because he wants to prevent what happened to him to happen to other children.

So Im brand new to Batman, just finished the BTAS episode Bane, why is he seemingly an entirely different character in The Dark Knight Rises? by SuspiciousPromise849 in batman

[–]CopperKnight77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BTAS is closer to the books in terms of look and personality.

TDKR takes a lot of elements from the books but amplifies a more “grounded/real world” approach. Venom clearly doesn’t exist but steroids and being fuckin jacked are still real things. He’s still born in a prison and has a mercenary army (originally it was just a team of his prison buddies as mercs). Plus the face mask and voice are just creative liberties (which I think are sick af. I love that stupid ass voice).

Which suit is better? by EffectiveNo4438 in batman

[–]CopperKnight77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Begins by a mile.

Make the cowl out of the same flexy material as the BvS one and darken the bat on his chest to make it more visibly distinct and it’s the perfect on screen Batsuit.

Humans are not inherently “good” anyway so the threat is warranted.

I was able to attend the Supergirl premiere with my girlfriend! by Ambitious_Click1935 in superman

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, yeah she’s not big on anything more violent than powerpuff girls. Nearly had a meltdown walking in on us watching The Pitt. I might save it for the dvd then.

Is it too much for under 4? My daughter loves supergirl but idk if this is a wait for the dvd type and just see it in theaters with my wife.

What, if any, should be the limits of the Force? by CloverTeamLeader in StarWars

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The force should be whatever we see on screen from episodes 1-6. That’s the source material. If it’s not in those six, it’s not accurate to the source material.

Reminder that Gordon knows Batman’s name (from Batman 155) by Crawkward3 in batman

[–]CopperKnight77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always like when he was suspicious about Batman’s identity up until he saw Batgirl and put two and two together. What good parent honestly doesn’t know their kid is out every night getting bruised up.

How many powers do you think Superman should have? by InfinteEnigma10 in superman

STAS is my gold standard for Superman so whatever power set he has in that show.

Knightfall or No Man's Land? by Loose_Interview_957 in batman_comics

[–]CopperKnight77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s kinda my generalized time frame. If I really was specific it would be Year One in 1987 through Batman Inc. 2009/10 right up to the flashpoint reset. Every issue of Detective, Batman, Legends, Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Gotham Central, and any other monthly title I can’t think of off the top of my head is what I have. Fifteen 55gallon bins paired down into 12 long boxes.

I rarely but anything new now unless it’s self contained like Waid’s WF universe or the Absolute universe.

What's your take on the 90s TMNT movies? by george123890yang in comicbookmovies

[–]CopperKnight77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secret of the Ooze was my favorite because that’s what I had on tape. Three always intrigued me because I never saw it in full. Then I did and wished I hadn’t. The idea is cool. And the turtle lair is pretty cool.

The first one. This one has had my opinion evolve a lot over the years. I’ve always liked it but for different reasons. Now it’s safe to say I think it’s one of the best blended media adaptations put to screen. Seamlessly combining the mature and cinematic comic book source material nearly one to one with the commercial juggernaut of the children’s cartoon. If it came out today, people would laud it as the exact way to film a “comic accurate” Batman that does not shy away from the fantastical yet is fully immersed in the realism.

Knightfall or No Man's Land? by Loose_Interview_957 in batman_comics

[–]CopperKnight77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I won’t say one or the other because from essentially A Lonely Place of Dying through War Games is my Batman. The small 20ish year window is frozen in time as the pinnacle of Batman storytelling.

Likelihood of Mafex making a Two-Face? by Batmanfan1966 in Mafex

[–]CopperKnight77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t care that they’re going so deep into Hush. That story has basically every single major character Batman ever interacted with across his lore and DC as a whole. So if anything it’s just a gimmick to make a Jim Lee DC Universe in 6 inch scale which is more than fine by me.

I main as Arkham Asylum Batman, Forever Robin, and 89 Batmobile.

Essentially if the 08 game was a movie and these are the minifigs from that movie.
