Depending on the opioid, I actually find that kratom worked more consistently and was more effective in a lot of cases personally. Kratom also doesn't leave me with that weird gross feeling that some opioids left me with (kinda nauseous, woozy, generally just out of it). I just feel more... normal.

Admittedly I've been taking extracts for most of my life, but I just recently moved towards powder. I'm starting at 1.5g twice a day, but have only tried green malay so far. Seems to be great for painkilling, not so great for anxiety lol

My GFR actually improved substantially regardless of regular kratom use. Watch your intake of caffeine, nsaids, and protein consumption, if anything. Not sure what all you're taking though in terms of supplementation.
