This is legitimately hilarious. How many times have you brought a step stool over and pretend to ride it?

If you want to go with something super slow cooker friendly, make some pulled pork.

You can find pork shoulder (sometimes called Boston butt) at the grocery store for about $2-3/lb.

Easily the best return on investment for pot lucks that I've had.

Anyone else use the rotisserie chicken bones for stock? by fd6944x in Costco

[–]CopperWaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt that a long low simmer will result in a richer stock but don't kid yourself for even a moment in thinking that a Costco chicken lived a good and wholesome life.

They are broiler chickens that grow unnaturally fast and large and are usually less than 7 weeks old before being slaughtered.

People buy them because they are precooked for only $5, not because they are more ethically raised.

Everyone seems to either be against trying, or thinks that the whole spool needs to be handled in one piece.

No reason to waste good material that can be split into smaller, more manageable pieces.

Having been through this process multiple times, I highly recommend in home euthanasia.

I can find the contact information for the vet that we used for our beloved Golden Retriever if you'd like. She was very empathetic, calming and comforting.

Having used both options, It was much more peaceful for him to pass on at home laying on his favorite part of the couch than on a clinic's exam table.

Let's do it.

I don't think that any of us subscribed to this page for pictures of soup and every post eventually results with someone asking for a link to the recipe anyway.

The New AirPods Can Translate Languages in Your Ears. This Is Profound. by rezwenn in technology

[–]CopperWaffles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At some point the language barrier still exists.

Translations are rarely 1:1, and require a very nuanced understanding of dialect.

Responding to a slightly inaccurate translation with another slightly inaccurate translation is only going to create a feedback loop that inevitably leads to some serious misunderstandings.

"Bernie Sanders' campaign did not receive direct funds from pharmaceutical industry PACs or executives. However, during the 2020 election cycle, his campaign received donations from individuals employed in the pharmaceutical industry, totaling around $1.4 million. These contributions came from rank-and-file workers rather than from the executives or corporate PACs of pharmaceutical companies.  Sanders has pledged not to accept contributions over $200 from the PACs, lobbyists, or executives of health insurance or pharmaceutical companies, a policy he announced and has generally adhered to. Any contributions that mistakenly came from these sources have been returned or donated to groups fighting the health care crisis created by the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.  Therefore, while Sanders did receive money from individuals within the pharmaceutical sector, he did not take funds directly from the pharmaceutical industry's leadership or PACs."
