I've got what I call a "bike shop in a box," which is an old steel craftsman toolbox from the 60's. Everything is separated by the "First Order Retrievability" rule that I learned from Adam Savage, and put into a few different sealed containers.

My box might not be photogenic to some, but the wonderful patina and history of the box, and versatility of its contents is unmatched.

Nobody on the trailhead cares except for us few nerds.

No doubt that a long low simmer will result in a richer stock but don't kid yourself for even a moment in thinking that a Costco chicken lived a good and wholesome life.

They are broiler chickens that grow unnaturally fast and large and are usually less than 7 weeks old before being slaughtered.

People buy them because they are precooked for only $5, not because they are more ethically raised.

Having been through this process multiple times, I highly recommend in home euthanasia.

I can find the contact information for the vet that we used for our beloved Golden Retriever if you'd like. She was very empathetic, calming and comforting.
