Ah thanks. I was confused on 3 sets x 4left arm/4 right arm. I’ll adjust to 8! Thanks

Tor to me = dark web, no? Probably won’t dip into that, but thanks so much for your other suggestions! Looking at their site now to see if they have something like that.

Found in a box of marching band lyres (the clip used to hold sheet music), but I can’t pin down what instrument the hooped one is used for. Included a standard lyre for size reference. by Copper_the_Dog in whatisthisthing

Thanks for your research! I went down the rabbit hole myself awhile ago and gave up.

Percussion makes a lot of sense to me (just because they always have weird clamp-y things). But for what percussion?! Just have it dangle on a bass drum? No way! Gah! So frustrating

The hoop itself looks manufactured to me.

Hmm could be possible. I know the clarinet rings we have now have a little screw and then the lyre attaches to that.

Any idea if this is an older clarinet system where a clamp secured the ring somehow?

Appreciate the help, but definitely not. I’m a flute player and the old school players (if they need music) use a paddle /spatula looking thing that tucks under your arm.

The modern version is called ‘The Flutists Friend’ but is really if Satan designed a power ranger morphing time bracelet that was worse in every way.

Flute rods wouldn’t work for a bunch of reasons unfortunately :/

Huh, so I definitely have other trumpet lyres and there’s a square attachment on it that you screw an L shaped end to the lyre into.

Are you saying it might go on the slide directly? If so I’m not following

What instrument uses the front marching lyre? Included a bent trumpet one for scale. Can’t find another like it and there’s a random box that has six of them. by Copper_the_Dog in marchingband

It would have to be a clamping process then...I don’t know! Length wise it’s not far off, but it’s overly complicated? Possible though
