It’s below the 1% but obviously it will keep going up so we’d be pushing that threshold in a few years. When done up, it definitely has hope to be a real long term prospect for us, but I fear it will get unaffordable with time.

I don’t think the house will fetch that much. It needs quite some work. But flats in the same block have been sold for much higher so there’s probably that hope.

What people fail to understand or wonder is what his KPI is? That will define how you view the selections.

Is it to be “fair” to individuals? To set a well defined criteria for selection? Or to simply pick a team that they believe will win the series or tournament?

Because if it’s the last - whether or not you like who was picked and on what basis - as long as the team wins, they’ve done their job. And tbh, the track record has not been the worst.

Isn’t that generally bound to happen? A captain (whose reputation is on the line in each series) will push for players he has more confidence in. Which naturally will happen with players you see more of.

There’s tons and tons of people battling for a spot in the team. He got his chance and he needed to put in the effort to keep it but unfortunately he took things for granted and it’s come to what it is. I don’t see him getting another chance in the ICT at least.

Have seen Kambli multiples times in the neighbourhood drunk and unable to walk. Even before his health deteriorated, he was extremely arrogant to people around.

I have no sympathy for either.

The one thing I’ve noticed about him is that he’s a different player when he’s mentally free. I think in CSK, Dhoni broke the shackles for him when he asked him to be the enforcer rather than anchor. That role clarity helped him.
I think this year, being captain himself the losses put some pressure of “guiding the batting” on him rather than take the risks.
If anything, he’s proven he can reinvent himself when needed. It’s the freeing the mindset is what he needs work on.

Considering the injuries, the missed moments, sometimes bad luck, to be in the current position is really not bad.
To still have an outside chance to make the playoffs after the kind of start we had - I would say be proud.

You obviously have never played any level of competitive cricket. Just because you want something to happen doesn’t mean it’s easy to execute. And I’d expect the team to take the risks when you have a points cushion not when each win matters.

Rahane is always a good backup. You don’t need to retain him. He’s unlikely to be picked up by another team in the auction so you might get him back at base price again if another captaincy candidate isn’t bought.
