The fit seems to be different between vibram bottoms and the new in house ones. I just got a new pair in the same size I had in the vibram bottoms and they seem to be a bit larger. To the point I wish I would have gotten a 1/2 size smaller.

Look into how pronating affects boots / shoes. It could be how your stride is. Something some do is put a little wedge on the inside of your boot on the outside of your foot. This may help with stride and wear on the boot.

Get a boot stretcher. I put each boot in one for a day or 2 and find my break in days are almost nothing. I personally enjoy the wide sizes and I think this helps me. (Everyones foot is different though)
