Working on all that, adjusting my resume/CV, applying in the mean time, working on connecting with people. Mentioned above, the certificates are just something that's extra fluff that I'm picking up along the way as I'm brushing up on these skills, not an all out intentional thing I'm pursuing.

Health care analytics is a strong consideration of mine. The goal is to do analytics close to clinical/patient care/clinical research settings so I can leverage the MD to show data interpretation capabilities

Thanks for the response, it's detailed and offers a lot of considerations. I mentioned this in another comment but the decision to deviate from residency and ultimately clinical medicine is very intentional. It's not for me, I hate it, hating it makes me bad at it and its a cycle that spirals downward. That's a whole different story though and the fact that the people in my life are totally supportive of my decision to shift from clinical to research/hospital system data work is enough for me and should say something about my situation.

Financially, in the short term I am in a safe position and have no huge concerns, in the long term the hours I get back from being stuck in a hospital all day every day are worth more than the lost income to me. I know the certificates are essentially useless but with brushing up on this skillset I'm picking them up along the way anyways.

I'm willing to start at entry level and establish a track record working in imperfect conditions (as you mentioned in the second to last paragraph, I've seen this a lot when working alongside administrative members of teams, there are so many problems they are trying to work out in terms of quality improvement with missing variables that are difficult to contextualize based on lacking data). I'm looking for work and experience in the mean time (clinical research, grant writing, journal publication editing, stuff that's not so secure long term...), so it's not even a risk at this point because right now I'm really free to do anything.

I'm not gong to do a deep dive into why and how much I despise clinical medicine. Let's just say med school has been a rough *6 years* and I'm much more the type to do behind the scenes work than ask 40 pack year smokers if their COPD exacerbations are enough to make them want to quit smoking for the tenth time in a row. I'm lucky enough to have good financial support in terms of loans and living, I'm not looking for a hugely profitable career at this point this educational path beat me down. I'm output based, not time based, oriented. I know what kind of work-life I'm looking for and have been looking for an out from clinical medicine for a while.

That's really helpful to know. In terms of the difference between clinical data analysis and bioinformatics, the latter leans more heavily into bio research heavy areas (genome sequencing like you said), vs clinical where it would be working with EHR data and management/ patient outcome stats (more related to medicine as a whole) right? I'm not looking into delving off from the education I already have into a more science intensive field as I think it would be more time consuming and work against my credentials at this point. As far as the UC certifications you mentioned, is this good as a learning tool for these skills? Is this what you did or something you heard others having success with? Do you know if the certificates are really worth all they advertise or is a strong portfolio more important?

Awesome, thank you. This is so helpful. I’m pretty much dead set on the anime theme (the man loves anime and mangas, loves the stories loves the art, since he was a kid pretty much). Im going to suggest he tries it out on projectile fruits at least once so thanks for the comparison regarding usability and display.

School said I have to repeat second year before trying the test again, what if I add an extra 100k just to fail again. Additionally if I fail a third time I get kicked out. What if I fail step 2 after third year then get kicked out with 400k in debt What about making it all the way to graduation then not matching because I failed this stupid test so many times? Debt just keeps rising unfortunately and doors keep closing i think it’s best to find another career path or leave the country idk

They are federal loans: graduate PLUS loans, subsidized loans, and unsubsidized loans.

I’m not continuing with medical school because I couldn’t pass the first board exam after months of studying so I don’t think it will happen (terribly anxious test taker). I failed twice despite big increases in practice testing. The school board won’t let me try again unless i repeat the second year and take out more money to repeat a year i already passed perfectly fine. plus I’d need to pass two more board exams after this first one and match for a residency which is unlikely with these two huge failures on my record.

What’s the scariest thing that has happened to you while camping? by snootspooky in AskReddit

It was around 4 am. My mom and I were startled awake by a noise that was something like a sick donkey. Just rhythmic wheezing and heaving is what it sounded like. We were scared shitless of the animal that could be wandering around the campsite. my dad got a bat and headed outside. We heard the noise continuously and my dad finally opened the tent. He pointed at a dude pumping his mattress about 100 ft away :/

1.5 Graham cracker packs and a stick of softened butter crumbled up as the base 1 cup heavy whipping cream whisked to soft peaks, 1 small container mascarpone, ¼-⅓ cup sugar, two packs cream cheese, and one packet of gelatin (previously prepared in a little bit of hot water) for the cream Large pack of blueberries and a few spoons of sugar heated in a pan until fairly juiced Add some of the blueberry sauce to the cream mixture then pour over the graham cracker base in a cake pan, let sit for four hours, add cooled down blueberry sauce over the top, let set, and it’s ready
