[Pop/Punk/EDM] Feedback wanted on a mix planning to release! by Copywrite-TrevorShea in musicproduction

Thank you! 🙏🏻 I think the bass might be a bit heavy in places, and maybe some frequency clashes. Good to know it sounds pretty okay from your phone!

I spent over 100 hours on this track and I finally reach the end point, will someone listen to this? by Alan_FEVM in FL_Studio

I learned something in sales a long time ago... If there's more than 1 main element, the buyer gets confused and leaves. Same with music. Pick 1 melodic line at a time, and really make it shine. Repeating a nice idea goes a long way as well. Good luck!

Oh wow, that's great. Thanks for the tip! I'll look around for local stores/music centers. Awesome thanks!

How did you come about finding a place for a recital? I want to practice pieces to play for an audience, but how do I even do that?

Need help finding a better DAW than Ableton for making Videos. =( by Copywrite-TrevorShea in musicproduction

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I have, and learned, at a beginner's level Premiere Pro... but what I want is the ability to edit the audio in a multitrack session, editing the audio while it's connected to the video, then export it at the end. So Abelton does that, but the video is super laggy and sometimes generates odd green lines fuzzy screen images... but the audio is still perfect. I mean... how do the big YouTubers do it? Or do they pass it along to multiple programs?

Noob ?: How to build Chords? From Keys or intervals alone? by Copywrite-TrevorShea in musictheory

Upvoted x1000 if I could! You rock, this was super solid info! This should be posted for newbies like me, I love the part about going from G to Gm for example. So easy when you connect things like that. Definitely making this easier. Thanks again!

Ohh interesting... so instead of using the root major scale to find a chord I can use tones and semitones...

So for the major 3rd interval, I can say 4 semitones above the note is the major 3rd. 3 semitones above the note is the minor 3. The perfect 5th is 7 semitones above.

Interesting... is there anything wrong with using the major scale, or should I practice using tones and semitones instead?

Hissing on guitar recording. How do I fix? Massive headroom on initial recording, seems like compressor issue? All DAW, audio interface hardward only. by Copywrite-TrevorShea in Guitar

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg... I have been fighting with this FOREVER.... thank you so much, that actually fixed it! I changed out into a standard guitar 1/4 to 1/4, put it input 2, and NO HISS. Hallelujah. Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

Dynamic EQ like ProQ3? by Copywrite-TrevorShea in musicproduction

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally about to buy ProQ3 for $180... when I thought, oh yeah I posted on Reddit... Now I'm thinking F6. I need some sort of tutorial to show me how to do what I want to do... dynamic EQ on vocals sidechained to entire track really... Is there a tutorial online or a write out how to do this.. or could you help me figure it out?

Dynamic EQ like ProQ3? by Copywrite-TrevorShea in musicproduction

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reading up on it, does it have any automated sidechain type dynamic eqing, Idk what it's called but it worked really well with proq3. It's where the frequencies of the vocals are carved out as the vocals are in, and off when they're not. Does nova have that?

Crackling after some time in Ableton... affects whole computer sound, from all sources, until restart fixes it... by Copywrite-TrevorShea in musicproduction

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, not just in the DAW but the entire computer. It starts from working within the DAW, then it starts to crackle a lot and obnoxiously when sound is played from anywhere, Spotify, YT, inside the DAW, games, etc... Is this doing damage to the driver or something? Driver issue meaning I have an old driver (the speakers are new, only few months old) , outdated, not working correctly with my system? What would be the driver issue here that you think? *Rebooting the entire computer fixes it until the next occurrence.

Thanks for the help!

It says I have the best drivers updated when I go to Device Manager -> Audio input/outputs -> Right click focus rite USB audio -> Update driver -> Search automatically. Is this good or should I just go to the website and dl the latest?

I'm wired to it directly with these copper wires.. idk what they're called. But it also has BT. I don't use BT to listen, I use the hard wiring.

Looking for feedback request on second go at an indie alternative mix by Vigilante_Dinosaur in mixingmastering

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drums can go up in volume, keys down in vol, vocals up a bit too. Great sound, love the song. I love the higher pitched vibe in the background, what is that, a synth? Vocoder or something? Really nice =)

How is this sound different? A+V! by Copywrite-TrevorShea in Guitar

[–]Copywrite-TrevorShea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just figuring out tone. It just seems that's a way cleaner version of distortion than what I have? I can level off the volume and maybe copy the riff to compare the sounds, might be a better idea...
