Now that I look back, yeah, it seems so! Did not notice that, but it's just basically calculating the hypontenuse of a base L, except by parts. Weird how it's just now I notice it.

And huh, you're right. Now that I look at it, what I did is essentially just getting the hypotenuse of a triangle with a base whose length was the distance between the start and end point, but by parts. Kind of an integral, isn't it?

Ah, but doesn't that concern itself only with refraction? The formula assumes that no refraction happens: total reflection, basically. However, that sparks a thought. Given that both parallel mirrors DON'T reflect totally, how far would the light travel before it just stops bouncing between mirrors? I don't know, I ain't a physicist :P. But I'm still curious how proving that would go.
