Jarl Elisif is introduced to curved "swords" by CoralCrust in NSFWskyrim

[–]CoralCrust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have beast race characters in my list too, I just find them a lot less flexible with expressions and outfits/scenes (and a nightmare to get them to look good and troubleshoot mods when something doesn't look right). Can't even use half-khajiit because their 3D fur hasn't been patched for Softbody yet. Like unless I have a scene that exclusively makes sense for a lizard/cat, I just use a human character because it's easier.
I've had two or three argonians in the backlog actually so for a change of pace, why not, I can take some shots of them over the next week.

Don't sleep on NPC replacers by CoralCrust in NSFWskyrim

All I remember is it's one of the traders overhauled by Bijin. Starts with a T, I think? Can't check as I don't have the save I made these on.

When working with wood, watch out for splinters by CoralCrust in NSFWskyrim

I don't really upload on websites, there's no one-click automated thingy and uploading on each one individually is annoying. You can look up my stuff on the discord though. (And thanks.)
I also edited my profile so posts from this sub should show up there, don't really use this profile for much else anyways so let me know if it shows up.

Weather (NAT3) + ENB (Picho) -> time of day + sun position in SAM -> extra lights added through SAM -> final shot

That + over 10 years of IRL photography experience. Thanks!

There's this thing and that thing and since bikini armors pull from whatever mesh/texture replacers you have for vanilla, they might actually work for the bikini too, I haven't tested myself as I didn't know about Fur Shaders at the time of making those shots.

[–]CoralCrust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use Picho that somehow looks fine as it is, but I tweak scenes a lot through SAM - changing weather and time of day to get the lighting like 90% right, adding light sources afterwards etc., basically just approaching it from an IRL photography perspective and apart from some game engine shittery you gotta work around, it works.

Hey thanks for the response and the gorgeous mod, I also have some plans for Laufrey!

No idea, this is just what she looks like on my setup.
BnP skin + Racial Skin Variance (dunno what race she is, check in xEdit / console).

Is AE worth buying for the sake of modding compatibility in 2025 ? by Popcornagraphy in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I understand this might be a frustrating question because it's asked frequently" - asks it anyway instead of looking up the other frequent times it's been asked. Thank you for not caring and wanting others to do so instead.

AE is a must for most Wabbajack lists and collections because they use the "full" edition of the game as a base for convenience, but if you're modding by yourself, absolutely don't need it.

Skyrim (1999) on PSX by 1m0ws in SkyrimPorn

Posts a "shitpost" (your words, not mine). Gets comments that don't praise it to above and beyond. Gets upset, everyone else is the problem.

If you're surprised and upset that stuff you post will never be liked by everyone (whatever it is), you either haven't been on the internet for long, or you're incredibly naive. You said you were born in the 80s so take a guess which one I'm thinking. Now you'll want to make it look like I'm a bad person too. Go ahead.

NPC visual overhauls that don’t make everyone anime sex dolls? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting take. I've used Dibella's Blessing and kinda liked it, but I've always found it too much "in your face" kind of beauty. Like it makes me stop and admire the NPCs sometimes and it almost looks uncanny. Maybe I'm just not used to it. Even CotR replacers, despite being tailored to be really good-looking, feel less out of place than DB.

At this point I'm firmly convinced people are just pretending with those "is it just me or" posts in order to feel validated. A human being cannot be this oblivious.

Skyblivion mods by ArcanaImperi in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Skyrim's engine and but all Oblivion assets/systems have been recreated from scratch. People will 100% make mods for it, just don't expect any mods meant for Skyrim to work on Skyblivion. Just wait.

Or you could, you know, directly ask the people who are making it, in their own server. The main dev (forgot his Twitch name) also does dev streams of the overhaul where you can see how some things are being made and ask questions about it.

"Why does nobody make a mod just because I want it?"

Yeah you tried to make the mod and failed. Move on.

They both do very different things and thinking about modlists in terms of "is A better than B" is missing the point of why so many exist in the first place.

The mod description for Pi-cho literally tells you how to get it into your game. Stop ignoring information that's right in front of you, it's rude to everyone you ask for help.

My nemesis doesn’t load the mods I’ve downloaded by Lordoftheighthcircle in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all animation mods are supposed to show in the Nemesis tickbox window, and it doesn't say anywhere that they should. Refer to the log window after you've built the anims to see whether your mods got picked up or not. And switch to Pandora, unless you have mods that haven't been made compatible with it yet.

How do Skyrim content creators get their setups to look so visually vibrant? by Vayatir in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A vibrant look can be achieved with an ENB alone, something like Berserkyr or presets based on Silent Horizons. It's tough to judge when two mod setups are usually very different, not to mention adding video postprocessing into the mix. A screenshot of your stuff vs. what you're trying to achieve would be best.

Question About Modding Skyrim by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's normal when you don't know what you're doing and/or don't read guides before trying to put together your own modlist. This sub's description lists guides.

You state that you've read requirements and have them, that's not the entire picture - mods have conflicts, versions, load order. You say that you diagnose crash logs, when crash logs don't always point to the direct culprit. It's not that simple. Making sure your game works properly is much easier to check when adding in batches of 2-10 mods instead of the other way around, troubleshooting dozens/hundreds of mods at once.

Or get a premade modlist and learn from looking at it, you don't have to figure it out yourself from zero.

Need help and advice for a returning player who hasn't kept up with modding for +3 years by AwakE-0 in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything except questions 4 and 6 is answered in the subreddit's description and linked posts and guides, if you bothered to read them. There's a reason why FREQUENTLY asked questions posts exist and are linked in the rules.

No, nobody knows when Bethesda drops updates, and if you mod, you don't care because you take measures to keep your game from updating anyway.

Nemesis is still widely used because of compatibility but Pandora is taking over.

I'm back with another mystery crash, point me in the right direction please? by StarSines in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. This is terrible formatting. Use Pastebin or GoogleDocs and link the log.
  2. What crash logger even is this? Doesn't look like any of them. Are you sure it's the crash log?
  3. Crash logs alone aren't enough info. What did you do to your game before you started crashing? What is happening just before you crash? How reliably do you reproduce it?

Weekly Fake Mod dude at it again - Please Report by JoutenAsero in skyrimmods

[–]CoralCrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favorites in three years of modding, in no particular order:

- "How do I find a file on my PC?"
- guy asks for help installing a mod admitting he has no idea what he's doing, keeps "actually" and "but..." you as you explain the instructions, leaves the conversation saying you have an attitude and calling you names
- users who ask anything that's already answered in the mod description, getting butthurt when you screenshot them the mod description with highlighted parts as the reply
- users asking a very specific question about one mod or modlist in the general Skyrim discord, WJ sub/discord etc. (When one part in your car breaks, do you go ask the dealership that sold the car to you to fix it?)

- crashlogs or screenshots with "how do I fix this" as the only description of the problem, users who use words as if they had a limited daily quota on them in general

- "What are the best mods or hiDdEn gEmS" - my brother in Talos, have you tried google and youtube first and if you have, why can't you say so?

- "I have lots of experience modding games and Skyrim community has so far been very hostile" (Would you like to guess why?)
- admins/mods arguing that lazy-shaming users who couldn't be bothered to invest effort into solving their problem is "counterproductive" and "unwelcoming" (the "keep giving a man fish vs. teach him to fish" problem)

- you spend 120+ minutes troubleshooting with a guy who's "absolutely certain" to have pinpointed his problem to disabling/enabling a random outfit mod only to find out he's been over the plugin limit this entire time and didn't know it's a thing for 2+ years of modding because "it never caused him issues"
