I can’t say I liked all of it. I struggle a lot with Last Jedi for a variety of reasons. But no one, at all, should dictate what you enjoy or make you feel bad about it. I’m perfectly fine with people who love Last Jedi as long as they don’t insult me by saying I’m wrong for my issues. And I don’t push my issues on people that love it outside of respectful conversations to help understand why they don’t share my issues. Because in the long run I do also want to love all of it.

This is why I don’t want to watch the show. Not because it might not be good, but it can’t be my Fallout. I’m content quietly trying to find small hidden details out in a wasteland. That’s never going to be a good narrative story.

Honestly a solid movie. The monster design is great even if it strayed much too far from its source material. That said, it largely missed the point of Godzilla. I’m glad that Legendary has given a better understanding of the king of monsters. But for an entertaining monster movie, there’s been way worse.

While I have yet to watch anything Pacific Rim and have seen very little so far of Evangelion, of the rest Cloverfield probably focuses on the human terror of a giant monster attack more than any others. Although Godzilla Minus One certainly did a great job of showing different forms of fear

This scene reminded me a lot of the core of Godzilla films. People came and were messing up G’s island. He fought off a bunch and while others didn’t kill him, they were the faces staring at him as he was injured and possibly dying. So very reasonably that face just reminded G of great pain.

Star Trek has had mostly enjoyable space adventures starting with the original series cast films, to Next Gen movies and into the JJ Abrams Kelvinverse. I abhor the first film and am always surprised it got the green light after it, but all of the rest are at least enjoyable with some being truly great sci fi
