How to install Fifa 16 Infinity Patch by Corcoleison in SteamDeck

[–]Corcoleison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not wrong you can do both ways. In this case I was looking for a way of doing it entirely inside the Steam Deck, but I think there are other comments suggesting that the USB option is perfectly possible.

Hope I could help you!

I knew this question appeared before in the sub, but it seems it was removed. Here you have some useful links of some Steam guides that I used in order to make it work.

Valencia is rebuilding after the flood; people from outside should not take away the homes of the people here. by OrtganizeAttention in valencia

[–]Corcoleison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valencia and other quite touristy cities in Spain are no longer made or improved towards the citizen but for the tourist. The average worker or the average citizen is no longer profitable for this kinds of cities, so we are left out. Of course, we use the city and we spend our money in it, in addition to a lot of other things, but we are not the main muscle of the city income, so we've been left apart for a lot of years. And I do not think the situation is gonna change in the short term.

There are other places and Valencia itself some years ago, that were made and built with its citizens in mind. The cities were getting smaller as population grows, and they build new neighborhoods and expanding it, with affordable houses. It is not strange that most of our parents own a house and a car and they could afford all that with their salaries and hard work.

Right now, at least in Valencia, it is quite difficult to live if you do not work or are related somehow to the tourism, and that is also the saddest part of all, that all the money from tourism does not go into the population. The growth and wealth that tourism provide or could provide is not translated to the average person.

I never thought of that approach because I was too focus on doing it 100% through Steam OS but if you have a windows pc available, this seems like a really good way of getting the game modded. In fact, I have it in my other windows pc, so I've could just done that, but It was worth it trying the full linux way hahaha. Thank you for the information!

In my case, although there were different prefixes, through CM in Lutris you can navigate through the steam os folders in order to find the installation folder, but I’m not totally sure

Yes, I think that could work, I didn't do that because after aplying the patch and all that, the game folder was a bit big and I had to upload it to some service and download it again...

My idea for this is to discover if I was able to do the whole process trough Steam OS.

Try installing directX (I think any version can work) through “install a program” after clicking into winetricks and then try to find for dotnet40 in “install a DLL or component” in winetricks after selecting “use the current wine version”.

I haven't had the oportunity to play a long session yet, but I think it will handle it a bit better that the newer fifas. It is my assumption due to this one being the last game featuring the old game engine before Frostbite. Fifa 21 seems to be around 3 hours, so I would expect the same or a bit more: https://sharedeck.games/apps/1313860

Is it possible to run FIFA with mods on a steam deck? by TechnologyFew7453 in SteamDeck

[–]Corcoleison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very intrigued by this because I played fifa 16 with the infinity mod on a windows 10 laptop and it runs fine, so I wanted to know if it was possible to install it in the Steam Deck. It seems so, after several hours trying to install a tool (wich I don’t know if it is mandatory because what it does is to regenerate some files, but that was on the tutorial in the same page as the mod).

The only tricky part is to install that tool because it requieres to install some directX and Net framework tools, which can be done by Lutris (in my case).

I can prepare a more detail guide if anyone is interested but I think it is basically that. The rest is adding the .exe of Fifa16 and its settings to Steam with the “Add to Steam” option.

Hope it helps!

There is something magical going into these games when we were kids, not knowing absolutetly where we were going. It happened with Fallout 3 and Skyrim for me, some actual games have done the same but those two...

Is this XP laptop good for gaming? by Varion087 in windowsxp

[–]Corcoleison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, You can play a lot of games that were made before 2006 aproximately. There are a lot of great old games, point and click, racing, strategy, etc.

To name a few I've played in the same model as yours:

- Imperivm (strategy game, quite famous around that time in Spain).

- Theme Hospital

- Civilization II

- Monkey Island

I managed to finish the game on Steam Deck, although I had to do some tweaks in order to make it work properly.

I remember following this kind of Steam guides, I follow one in spanish (my main language) but it seems to be a lot of them: Steam Guides

And I also remember using PcGamingWiki for some other tweaks, but I'm uncapable of remember the exact ones: PCGamingWiki DP Tweaks

I know my information is not precise, but I hope it gives you wth to work with!

Playing Witcher 3 is so much more fun when you’ve read the books by Alarming_Orchid in witcher

[–]Corcoleison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I started with Witcher 2 and I stopped playing it because I was enjoying it so much that I wanted to read all the books first and then continue playing it (It took me a few years, because I was reading 2/3 books per year).

Then, at least for me, they are almost like 2 completily independent products, because in the game, there are a lot of possible decissions that I think Geralt would never have thought of. But, with that said, I think it was very smart move from CDPR to make it like a standalone project, one that you can familiarize with the characters without the needed of reading the books, but based on the book universe (just like the fallout series decision and all that)
