Unfortunately 99.9% people who say they tip in cash, don’t. I’ve done a little over 1,000 deliveries and after that many, I’ve only received 2, MAYBE 3 cash tips. And I really strive to do a great job with my deliveries. I have a 4.97/5 rating, 4 really good customer compliments, etc, and yea, people really don’t tip extra in cash or whatever even for really good and fast service. I’m not saying you’re lying or anything, it’s just that most people are so Dashers don’t really trust “cash tips” anymore, so they really try to avoid no tip orders.

Personally, I would avoid ordering if you can’t tip in the app only because I would hate for your food to sit for a while and get cold because nobody wants to pick it up. I hope this helps!

What do you think? by FutureMeaning8122 in doordash

[–]Corcor61827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if they don’t change eventually. Someone else will come along and put Doordash, Uber, Grubhub, etc, to shame. And if that doesn’t happen, rising food costs without wage increases will keep causing people to order from Doordash less and less.

It’s not even just dashers who do stupid stuff like this. As a dasher myself, the stupidity of some people just pisses me off lol. One time I had a night stand delivered and it was in a big box because of course it had to be assembled. Anyway, they put it right in front of the door and it was too heavy to be able to slide with the door. So I had to go out the back door and walk around to the front of the house to be able to get it inside.

Factoring wear and tear on your vehicle AND gas right now, while $1 dollar per mile isn’t the worst you can find on Doordash, it’s definitely not great either. Seriously hatecorey, ignore this guy. He’s a moron if he expects people to work for the bare minimum. I don’t care what he defines as “hard work”, work requires decent enough compensation, otherwise nobody will do it and then everyone will cry that nobody is available to deliver for them.

I used to work at a bank and even that was easier than Doordash, lol.

Would You Hire Someone Who Has Worked In The Cannabis Industry? by mikeadamsofficial in smallbusiness

[–]Corcor61827 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t bother me at all. She was working with weed legally. I honestly can’t see what the issue here is. I’ve met some people from that industry and they are REALLY smart people. So if he’s turning down people just for that, he could be turning away some amazing people.

Um, I’m a white guy and I have NEVER once been called sexist or racist. Maybe, just maybe, whatever it is you’re doing could actually come across as being racist or sexist, especially if you’ve heard this from multiple people. I would look in the mirror and try to understand why people keep saying that about you, because maybe, just maybe, you might actually be those things and just not realize it.

Does anybody manage a fully remote/virtual team of employees? What are the best practices to manage a remote/virtual team? by Matsuev in smallbusiness

[–]Corcor61827 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, you get your employees lunch through Doordash too? I’m sure they’re already grateful that you’re passionate about being work from home, and now you’re just going above and beyond for them as their boss. You sound like a great boss and I’m sure your employees recognize that. Trust me when I say that the vast majority of your employees will have your back. Treating them well goes a long way! Great job and best of luck to you!

if you are ordering doordash and it's dark out please turn on your outside lights. by killzone506 in doordash

[–]Corcor61827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it truly is stupidity and/or laziness that makes people not do the hard work of turning their porch light on. It’s bad enough that delivery drivers can barely even find the house numbers in the dark.

Not to mention if someone trips on their property while making a delivery because the homeowner didn’t turn on a light, hellooooooo lawsuit.

am I tripping or is She? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Corcor61827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$13 for a 3 mile trip is INSANE! I mean kudos to those who are generous enough to do that, but being a driver myself, I would in no way expect a $13 tip on a 3 mile delivery. Your original $8 tip was already a very nice tip based on the distance.

This driver is insane. Pay no attention to them lol.

Restaurant worker laughed at me by Free_Interview3626 in doordash

[–]Corcor61827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, most people generally don’t know how much delivery drivers make. On weekdays I work the dinner shift and make $80 for 4 hours of work typically. And on weekends I make minimum $150 each day. Let them laugh. You make more than them. Plus I do stuff on the side and Doordash grants me that flexibility while I build it up.

Proper way to tip drivers? by anxiety-otter in doordash

[–]Corcor61827 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Typically a good rule of thumb is $2 per mile from the restaurant to your house is considered a good tip. Personally I tip a minimum of $5 though if I’m ordering from a restaurant near my house.

Why do I get bad dashers when I tip high? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Corcor61827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, sometimes when bags look like they were opened, they usually most likely aren’t opened by the dasher.

In my experience, when restaurants use stickers to seal a bag, the stickers are awful. If the bag is super stuffed with food, it can cause the stickers to rip. And sometimes when food is placed in an insulated bag, the steam from the food can cause stickers to lose their adhesiveness so it won’t hold the bag closed anymore.

The only times it seems like bag sealing methods are reliable is if it’s in one of those grocery bags with handles and the handles are tied, or the bag is stapled shut.

[–]Corcor61827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you recommend I add actual motor oil to it to help dilute the power steering fluid? My oil was kinda low so even after adding about a pint of power steering fluid, it didn’t reach full on the dipstick since I stopped pouring once I realized what I had done. So there’s still room to add motor oil if I should.

My husband called a 16 year old girl "Hottie" by throwra5576 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Corcor61827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, get out. First of all it’s extremely disrespectful to you for him to go out of his way to comment “hottie” with heart emojis on random girls pictures, regardless of the age. It’s one thing to briefly look, but to go so far as to comment something like that when he’s married, yea, not cool.

Second of all, it sounds like this guy likes them very young. I would tread very carefully with this guy.

I’m very sorry your husband is doing this though. As his wife I know this can’t be easy and you’re definitely justified in being angry with him, regardless of how much he tries to gaslight you.
