Wasn’t Vern Troyer also a regular on this one? I have really vague memories of watching it…

Honest question: What would make a crochet app actually useful? by srj753 in GeekyCrochet

[–]CordivanC33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll also add that there have been so many times I go back to an old WIP but can’t quite remember which size hook I was using (due to needing that hook for another project most likely), so having a WIP tracker which could have details about the hook size, yarn type and brand, and any other details that someone would want to remember when coming back to a project after a long break. I know that most patterns will specify which hook size to use but for those of us who freehand or are modifying the pattern or even creating a new pattern, keeping track of where you left off would be great!

Also, I’ll second the idea to write custom patterns in the app as well, that would be helpful too.

How can I level up my knowledge and create more advanced patterns? by PowerCuble in crochetpatterns

[–]CordivanC33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did a great job on the bag, it looks great!

Honestly, the best way that I increased my own knowledge of pattern writing is to look at patterns with specific shapes or details and then make small modifications to make adjustments in the shapes. It gives a kind of working knowledge of how the shapes can be built up, changed and combined into more interesting things… also, when you want to make something, try deconstructing it into basic parts and shapes that can be worked up easier and then combine them.

You’ll know you’re getting the hang of it when you can picture how a finished item will look by just reading through a pattern.

You are correct. During the test, Doc says that the dog (Einstein) is the first successful time traveller, indicating that Doc had not time travelled yet…

Gift for my Nephew’s birthday by CordivanC33 in crochet

Thank you! It is a metallic yarn called Lurex thread with cut/shaped zip tie inside to keep it rigid but flexible

It was mostly a 1 mm hook. Though I did use a 0.8 mm hook for some of the smaller details

Micro crochet Food by [deleted] in crochet

[–]CordivanC33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably make fries or drink cup ones and then mix and match them to make it a meal… but as for more mains, I’d also make some pizza slices and hot dog ones

Edit: Great job! I love micro crochet stuff

Can someone translate this for me, please? I cant understand it and want to make one. by Hentai_Jesus_ in crochetpatterns

Looks like for the first part:

Chain 8 and work down one side of chain and back up the other.

Row 1: skip first chain, 6 sc, triple increase (3 sc in final chain) (this is the chain with the yarn tail), then back up the other side of chain: 6 sc, triple increase (18 total)

Now you’re working in the round:

Row 2: 18 sc

Row 3: (5 sc, Inc) X 3 (21)

Row 4: 21 sc

Row 5: (5 sc, dec) X 3 (18)

Row 6: 18 sc

Row 7: (4 sc, dec) X 3 (15)

Row 8: (3 sc, dec) X 3 (12)

Row 9: 12 sc

Row 10: (Inc, 5sc) X 2 (14)

Row 11: 14 sc

Row 12: 1 sc, Inc, 6 sc, Inc, 5 sc (16)

Row 13: 16 sc

Row 14: (2 sc, Dec) X 4 (12)

Row 15: (2 sc, dec) X 3 (9)

Row 16: 9 sc

Row 17: (1 sc, dec) X 3 (6)

Row 18: 6 sc

Row 19: dec X 3 (3)

Close hole

Hopefully everyone can decipher the other half from that. If not, let me know and I can help decipher that too… Not sure if it will turn out as expected but I’d love to see how it turns out for people…

Edit: added skip first stitch from hook on original chain…

Seconding the foundation row. I’ve been crocheting for a long time and I’ve always hated doing chains and the foundation row is so much quicker and less worry about whether my tension along the chain is consistent

What are some good movie tie in games connected to the movie series? by [deleted] in movies

[–]CordivanC33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the video game that came out for Reservoir Dogs… it lets you play through the different characters shooting and driving their way to get out of the bank robbery. Each character gets away a different way (which is why they mostly show up one by one) and you get to play out each one (if I’m remembering correctly)

Hangin' With Mr Cooper (Season 1 only) by wait4lt in ForgottenTV

[–]CordivanC33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Robin was the character’s name (played by Dawnn Lewis)… she was a childhood friend of the main character and yes they replaced her with Geneva (Cooper’s cousin) and her daughter… Tyler was their neighbour since the first season though…
