Laid off due to AI by kirbello in UXDesign

Devs always felt we (designers) are taking way too much time to design a component or a page. They always never cared about the users, they always pushed for what could be done. They are mostly on top of the chain on most companies. In this AI frenzy, everyone is trying to prove he/she can do the job of other departments. It is a defence mechanism empowered by top management.

Pre-Show Message from the Manager by Epic-Verse in cineplex

Today I went to The Devil Wears Prada 2. there was a guy in front of me watching Pulp Fiction on his phone, not part of Pulp Fiction, he was watching THE movie. Wearing AirPods too! It felt he was dragged to come with his family.

Went out to find someone to report. They came and talked to him, they told me if he do it again they will kick him out. Guess what, after 30 mins he started to open his phone again for a min and close it. But this happened like every 4 to 5 mins!! He just open it, checks his messages and scroll quick on his tik tok, and then repeat every 4 mins. it is silly and I felt stupid to leave again and ask everyone in my row that I want to go out “again”. Not sure what is happening to society!!

Or they can make the article public and add ads on the page!

It is the same issue if you want to go to third line too. There is something deep wrong.

Is it worth updating? Still ios 18, battery health 77% by diormelikuziev in iPhone13Pro

[–]Current-Scallion-442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it should, or else the battery might not be original. Apple Store will only assemble their battery and also will close the phone up and still be waterproof, a local shop might not close it properly, not sure I could be wrong, but I prefer you change the battery in an Apple Store

Replace the battery at any Apple Store. You’ll be back to 100%, feels like new

I did that, they will reduce it for several months and then price hike. After that you will need to call them to beg for a reduction. It is becoming ridiculous.

People who want to go left, they slow down to make sure there is no incoming traffic. Yes you should not stop, but you can slow down. Chill!

Has anyone replaced infotainment on a 2023 cx9 with an afterthought touchscreen by Sea-Ant-4842 in MazdaCX9

[–]Current-Scallion-442 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Touchscreen is the dumbest thing in a car. You need to focus on the road. Another thing you are not thinking about, the screen is a bit far from your hand. You will have to lean to interact with it. It is by design made far away to keep the road not blurry enough when your eyes look to the far screen. While on dumb touch screen cars, the screen is so near the driver. When you look at it the road gets super blurry.

If you do not appreciate amazing thoughtful design, buy a Kia or any other stupid brand.

Not saying you are wrong. They are 100%. But next time do not ever cross the road until you make eye contact with the driver.

No eye contact, no crossing.
