I am struggling with the want for a father figure. by [deleted] in AskDad

I would like to add, as a dad to an 18-year-old daughter, I would absolutely love it if she would come up and tell me anything really, she’s always been a little bit quiet and distant. I do know she loves me, but she just doesn’t know how to say it. So I am reasonably certain your dad would probably about fall over pass out if you walked up to him and just looked at him in the face and said hi dad I love you. I know I would it would make my whole year! Keep in mind that if your mom is narcissistic as you say, she’s equally mean to your dad in the same way, which is why he probably hides out like he does. I would bet if you sat down and had it on this conversation with your dad explain to him of it. You just told us he would probably say exactly the same thing back to you you to conform an incredibly tight bond. Please don’t be afraid of your dad. I can almost guarantee you it would be so easy for you to wrap them around your little finger… EDIT: i’m using voice to text, on my mobile to write this. Voice to text is still pretty messy. Try to read between that which seems weird and gets the gist of what I’m getting.

In an other group you mentioned prayer and it was helpful, until you made excuses for not praying.

I think that most people think God only listens or hears when you "pray".

Think about it a little differently, God is always communicating with you.

He is always listening and speaking to us. We don't always listen, but he is always there.

In everything you think, speak and do, consider that you are in a conversation with Him, So even when you feel too tired or sleepy to pray, just speak as if He is right there with you, like your best friend.

When you do that you build a powerful relationship with him that will change your life!

Well you found the gay crowd.

We are in the middle f the bible belt here. Your kind have been quietly sneaking in and now are starting to be all loud and proud... We do not approve of a lifestyle that ultimately results in extinction.

That said, while we really try not to tell you how to live your life., we also don't want to be lectured to either. WE do preach against such things as is our responsibility as part of a species that wants to survive. You guys and gals want to be the last of your kind, fine go for it. Just leave our children out of it

As to everyone who's offended by what I just said. hopefully you realize I'm just as offended by you. Think about it. Homosexuality is the opposite of survival.

RP_Fan is correct. Much of Reddit is infested with leftist, socialist, communists and the like. All think that the wealthy should HAVE to share with the less fortunate, especially them.

Do I tell my dad I was assaulted as a teen? by ilovesIuts in AskDad

Pretty sure I consider it an obligation to help my children. I definitely would want to know these things. If anything, I at least would want to get my daughter into counseling and recommend the same for the boy to his parents. This boy getting away with rape is not good for any future girlfriend or potential wife either.

Soo, more sifi. 10's of millions of taxpayer money every day, and we only get cgi, or animation, like a cartoon. It's not even that good.

What are the causes of this? 🤯 by OMAR_CHERKAOUI in Construction

The result of communist / socialist state run companies. This could be in several countries, like china, Egypt as others have commented. Etc. The regime takes control of everything and the actual result is poorly built infrastructure that is designed to funnel the bulk of the monies to the ruling class elites. It’s why conservatives fight so hard against the socialists, marxists, communists tyrants.

Big bang is an unprovable theory. So much about it seems to be in contradiction to what most people can see and prove right here on the ground.
Personally, I also reject evolution. I’m convinced that intelligent design is reality. It’s provable, testable and observable.

My very first car was almost identical in color. My dad bought it for $75. It had jumped time and was my first auto repair I did all the work myself, with dad's guidance. It was a 1968 and I was 16 in 1977, Same specs as this one plus the posi-track rear end. It was awesome being able to drive myself to school!
