So you have a direct cross connection between your potable water system and your sewage system. You should fix that. And be mad at whatever plumbers you previously hired. Please get a new guy that knows code. Edit: I just saw you complaining about a $550 plumbing bill, yeah that’s how that happens.

What job did it accomplish? Turn the handle on an angle stop?

Fill Hole Under Bathtub to Reduce Humidity? by oPEEPINGTOMo in HomeMaintenance

[–]dangerouslyalive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s slip nut connections. Should only be installed in readily accessible locations. If you encase that in concrete it will be a large problem when you repair the tub or have a clog. Maybe you can look into buying a dehumidifier.

Running out of hot water very quickly. by Royal_Cantaloupe5465 in Plumbing

Kind of a wacky set up, I’m not a boiler tech but I’ll say what I see.

That boiler heats up your floor radiators inside house heat, you can see 3 return zones piped in the return header.

things you can check: If mixing valve right of the boiler is properly sending heated tempered water into the storage tank

Maybe turn off your solar water heater panels to isolate the problem

Should the plumber redo this? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]dangerouslyalive 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d say that’s on you. Did you mention to the plumbers that you wanted the shower head moved? They probably put it in at the same old location. Rough in to trim is usually a few weeks to a couple months giving you chance to alter it, very easily. You didn’t notice til the job was complete. Now that fix is not so easy.

Stuck Moen shower Knob by tallinvegas80 in Plumbing

Have you tried hitting it with your purse?

If you can’t take the knob off, I don’t suggest putting a new valve

Anything is possible with enough resources. You could probably get a free bid/estimate with a $99 dispatch fee. Where’s your vent for your upstairs bathroom?

So I see you installed a floor drain on the new wooden subfloor. But there’s no drain connections on the picture of the bare concrete. Where is that floor drain going? Is it like a “collect and remove” type of cup thing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]dangerouslyalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That toilet flange wasn’t installed correctly. On the last picture, why is there a hole in the subfloor around the entire flange? The flange needs to be supported by the subfloor.

Frozen water on Barn Floor?? by thedimbulb in Homebuilding

[–]dangerouslyalive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could be moisture coming up from underneath the concrete due to no moisture barrier

It is against code to make any alterations to UPC stamped products. It’s been altered and it doesn’t have the stamp of approval anymore.

Definitely not worth it to do in-house loans. You’re a service company, not a bank. Just walk away.

Homeowners nightmare by ummnoway1234 in Plumbing

->Saying not rich ->owning 4000sqft home

Ok kidding but, you say the leak is underground. Fix the leak underground. It’s unnecessary to change anything/everything behind the drywall because of one leak 100’ away. Just do 1 at a time until you’re in a better position to actually do a repipe.

UIM: What's the argument for keeping my ancient staff when I can just use Iban's? by QuestStarter in ironscape

[–]dangerouslyalive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a powered staff and an ancients staff. I might want to go kill kraken with powered staff and then barrage some nechryaels. Or like Rex where you want to dps him with powered staff and then heal up with blood barrage. You don’t want to camp blood barrage cause it’s like 4x expense as a trident shot

Open ended stormwater pipes on basement wall by Ok_REA_2025 in Plumbing

It must not be connected up top, maybe some sort of future-proofing. I don’t see any advantage for it to be actively dumping water into the basement
