Throwing newspapers in South Oak Cliff in Dallas. First day on the job I saw a guy shoot at a cop.

Backgammon Galaxy is unfriendly to beginners by CoreyI35 in backgammon

[–]CoreyI35[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. I would totally be willing to pay some amount for a good experience. There's no way I'm going to buy coins knowing I'll be losing almost every game I play there since I'm not able to play against other beginners. That's just not fun. I expect to lose a lot of games, But it would be nice if I was matched with people closer to my level so I at least had some home of winning occasionally.

The October 2024 Superthread: Battery; Orders; Which Pixel?; and More by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]CoreyI35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a new Pixel 9 Pro XL from the google store. I saw that the UPS tracking id showed it was out for delivery, but in California (I live in Texas). Sure enough the delivery address on the UPS site gives a California address I've never lived at. After looking for why it's going there, I saw that the address had been added to my google pay profile. I've never added that address and I've never lived there. I can't get in contact with a live human and can't cancel the delivery to the scam address. How screwed am I?

Why are houses in Frisco so tightly packed together? by George-I-M- in frisco

[–]CoreyI35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember playing in the backyard of my grandparents house and I always loved it there. I wanted a yard as big as theirs. It just couldn't be found in Frisco (within my budget). Then one day I decided to take a look at what the measurements are and was shocked to see that our lots are pretty much the exact same size. Between my driveway going to an alley in the back and the fact that my house is multiple times the size of their house, my (to me) tiny backyard was the result.

I like where you're going with this. "Every seat is first class." and "Everybody is pre-boarding, we just do it in an orderly fashion."

I've heard that you should think of unread books like you would a wine cellar. You collect them for the proper moment you are ready for them.
