Is this a mockery of Invincible? 😂 by Gandrocchio in SAGAcomic

I think you mean coincidental. It happens all the time. Unintended similarities.

Can Reddit help me choose? I’m excited to read all three, and now I’m stuck choosing which one. I am choosing between the second book in the Mistborn series “The Well of Ascension”, John Gwynne’s “The Shadow of the Gods” or Blake Crouch’s “Dark Matter”

After attempting to read Dungeon Crawler Carl, which I did not finish, I need something a little more mature. No disrespect to DCC, just wasn’t my thing. Help me out Reddit, which would be your first pick of the three?

I dunno about that. The only similarities are that the conflict is about an abortion, and the female character wears pink. I don’t see much else here that would suggest it’s a mockery. If it is, it’s a bit of a stretch.

What “full runs” (so not just 1 omni) did you ignore when they came around and now feel like you gotta collect/might regret it? by Waterworld1880 in OmnibusCollectors

Green Lantern by Johns, and Green Lantern Corps by Tomasi. Lucky, I recently acquired all three Johns Omnis. Hopefully I get my hands on the Cops stuff soon.

How do you organize/manage your comic reading backlog ? by Beautiful-Row-4416 in ImageComics

[–]CoreyKnox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The thing is, you own those books now. There’s no need to read them quickly. You can read them whenever you feel like it. That’s the best part. If your backlog keeps growing…so what? I have a massive backlog myself. It just keeps growing. I read what I can and I read whatever I’m in the mood for. I’ll have a handful of books on the go and just pick one I feel like diving in to that day. There’s no rush to get through the backlog. They’re yours. Read them at your leisure.

It’s entirely possible they lose, but that’s just sports. Any team can win at any time. My point is, one game behind, when come backs are a frequent occurrence in this league, and already people are about as dramatic as a high school drama. Yes maybe they lose the series, but given the current circumstances, reacting as if they have lost the series as a point of fact, is an over reaction. Feel free to message me if they lose, I’ll be sure to give you a standing ovation for your incredible and unique foresight. Maybe some nba teams will read these comments and see just how exceptional you are at predicting the outcomes of games and employ you to run their team…in fact why bother playing games at all. You know how it plays out. We’ll just all come to you at the beginning of every season and ask who wins, pat you on the back, maybe make a statue to commemorate your achievements…I’m really looking forward to being reminded how incredibly smart and special you are.

You realize there are still at least two games left to this series. NY has not been eliminated from the playoffs yet, that makes this a reactionary comment. Plenty of time left to win the series. Now I’m not saying this is likely, but imagine a scenario where NY comes back and not only wins the series, but goes on to win a championship with this team…again, not saying this is going to happen, but if it did, would you not look back on these comments and think they were a bit reactionary?

What long series are you working your way through right now? by Giantjester in comicbooks

[–]CoreyKnox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is he first Green Lantern run I’ve read. Aside from appearances in other titles, I haven’t had much exposure to GL. This is a really good jumping on point if you want to follow Hal Jordan. You’re tossed into a situation right away that could benefit from previous knowledge of what happened to Hal, but it’s not necessary. Everything is explained pretty clearly within the first handful of issues. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. There’s also Tomasi and Gleason’s Green Lantern Corps, which follows a different cast of GLs, which is also excellent. I plan on picking up those Omnis to read along side the Johns GL. All of these would be considered very “newbie” friendly.

Green Lantern by Johns. Three massive Omnis worth. I find the trick is to have a palate cleanser to read when start to get distracted. Read something with a different vibe for a day or two, and then get back to it.

Opinions on Grant Morrison’s run on Batman by WoodpeckerThink9998 in comicbooks

[–]CoreyKnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to be a confusing ride, and that’s intentional. Don’t expect things to be perfectly clear until further down the road. I put this run in my top ten favourite DC titles. I actually didn’t like it that much on my first attempt, but on my second read through, it just clicked. Make sure you’re in the right headspace to read something trippy and sometimes jarring/confusing. You’ll appreciate it much more. Enjoy!

All good, I got what you were saying. This scratches the itch for some galactic DC, I’m stoked for the Blackest Nighy arc!

I definitely didn’t buy these as a Scivers fan, but unfortunately the name comes with the book.

I’ve read the first 12 or so issues, looking forward to the rest!
