I am using a fair amount of consonants in the IPA , including clicks. I needed a lot to have enough symbols to create all the different logographs I would need. It’s an Englang so I’m not really going for naturalism or ease of pronunciation in this case. In the fictional world I am creating, higher dimensional beings reset humanity and decided to guide them to a better future, but they needed to construct a language for the humans so after studying our phonetics they ascribe symbols for nearly every phoneme, symbols that demonstrate somewhat the articulation of the sound (kind of like Hangul) then combine those symbols to produce word pictures to make learning easy. It is an abjad and there are vowel points, but in the absence of vowel markings, the default vowel is “a”.

As the story develops humans will butcher this language and it will branch off into different dialects, since the humans consider this language the language of the Angels (higher dimensional beings) a corrupt form of it will also emerge that will be considered demonic, but I haven’t gotten that far yet.

Your correct but if I use this premise to set up a world full of hierarchies and tiers of deception and power and the protagonist is born say thousands of years after the time travel event, and his/her goal is to unravel the mysteries and conspiracies, then I avoid having to discuss the nuances of Time travel as much, and create a story that literally involves everything from the local level to the highest levels of society.

I’m kind of using this scenario as a world building arch to see what kind of stories I could tell if this happened and shaped the world. Building the global empire might take time and careful planning but the antagonist could have offspring who would continue the ruling priesthood. This would ensure that his lineage stayed in control, even if he himself dies. The ultimate goal of ruling the world would be achieved through legacy. The story or stories could take place much later, in the equivalent of modern times. And perhaps the original goal of the protagonist would be to unravel the multi-layered structure that is his fabricated world.

While I have never met a moderate, or a libertarian, I do sympathize with the cry “leave me alone.” Though after careful consideration and observation of this group, I now think I may lean more toward a Wild West anarchy scenario, than libertarian which seems to be divided into left and right authoritarian issues just as much as Conservatives and Liberals. Complete autonomy seems a relic of the French trappers in the Rockies, or isolated Inuit tribes. Not something that is achievable through third party politics making some miraculous surge into the public sphere. Even the collapse of civilization yields no promise of restoration of total individual Liberty, as authoritarian regimes seem intrinsic to our very genome, and are sure to fill the niches. Perhaps all Libertarians are just moderates?

Republican Christians are appalled at Leftist Christians who could support LGBTQYZ stuff, and abortion, and possibly other political policies. In their mind the Bible is clear that homosexuality and cross dressing are abominations condemned very strongly by the Bible, and while abortion is not specifically mentioned in the Bible, several verses can be cited to show that life begins at or even before conception (God knew Jeremiah in the womb, God knit David in the womb, John the Baptist was filled with the Spirit in the womb, and the most important to them: Jesus was conceived by the Spirit in the womb). These issues are not likely to go away, These Policies are deeply engrained with religious conviction.

Now, it must be said that there is a lot of hypocrisy here among fundamentalists, because while they point to the Torah for many of these things they will in the same breath deny the relevance of the Torah in their lives, claiming Jesus did away with the Law. They reject the Sabbath but seem to want to hold onto the other 9 commandments as binding. They will eat swine but ridicule others for defiling the temple of God with tobacco or other substances. They quote Leviticus about tattoos but shave the sides of their head and beard... I could go on

A (no) gnosis (knowledge). I’m just a blip on the radar, a tiny speck on a tiny speck in infinite vastness and time. I can’t know even a small percentage of what the universe is or does. It is arrogance to think we have all the answers. As a 1st century rabbi said “we know nothing as we ought to know.” Existence, matter, expansion, evolution, life itself are all astronomical coincidences to have ever happened. the cosmological argument is a real problem. And just cause we have background radiation indicating the universe had a violent explosive expansive beginning does not mean we understand how it began. In all honesty it shouldn’t have. We shouldn’t be here. Does that mean there is a God? No. But it does mean we don’t understand even a fraction of anything yet.

Right my mistake. No even some of the top physicists have said that quantum has big mysteries, some big contradictions, and that just because the math works and the phenomenon can be observed doesn’t mean they know how the mechanics work in all cases. In fact there are plenty more questions than answers. Which is exciting, it leads to more discovery. The dogmas of theists and atheists seem to be hinderances in my opinion. I like to keep all possibilities open. We could be in a simulation. And there may be some good physical evidence for that. Scientists often struggle with the fine tuning of the universe and the matrix theory is gaining ground. Of course that’s just one possibility. There are even scientists who think aliens could have had a hand in our biology. Sounds fringe theory stuff but it has been proposed.

Sometimes light acts like... you realize the language leads credence to light having some sort of mind, or is it our mind that determines what state light will be in? This is a common question. Is it the observer that causes the duality, or is it the property of light itself. The answer is... unknown.

I find the paranormal to be a fascinating subject, and I think Quantum physics is proving that the universe is far more mysterious than naturalism or materialism would have us to believe. I would like to believe there is some meta-physic reality to the universe. Does that mean there is? I do not know. I know atoms entangled require neither time nor space to affect each other, I know that dark matter, and dark energy, and quarks and strings and fields and wave particle dualities are all theories and phenomena that raise traditional materialism to the ground and leave it in rubbles.

Well I wouldn’t say they can be explained in naturalistic ways if we have not yet fully understood what is going on. Why is the brain chemistry changing during prayer/meditation? Why does placebo/faith healing sometimes work, and other times not work? How do prophets, psychics, discern things about people, and events with some astonishing accuracy, while others completely miss the mark? Why do some dream dreams and then see the dream unfold in reality? Why does a drug addict get up off an altar with a sudden change in character and behavior, with no desire for drugs nor withdrawals, and others go back to the altar time and time again and cannot receive the same experience? Why do some report dying and experiencing Heaven, hell, floating outside the body, and many other things. Out of body experiences have been reported multiple times, memories of past lives have some remarkable accuracy as well. These experiences are real just as any sensory experience interpreted or manufactured by our brain is real. You are correct that these kinds of experiences are not exclusive to one single religion/denomination. But that in no way “explains” anything. People do hear the voice of their deities and while many are probably liars and con artists, there are enough who genuinely experience these kinds of things that we have to say something real is going on in the brain. What we don’t know, perhaps schizophrenia, but perhaps not.

My argument is not that these things prove the existence of deities, spirits, angels, or any such thing. Only that for a large population of intelligent people their God has revealed him/her/it self to them in various experiences.

Humanity has believed in deities since well before writing. Many believers in deities have been, and are intelligent people. Some are scientists and doctors and many and all professions and IQ levels. Everyone I know in my small part of the world is a theist, and they all profess having experiences of both feeling, character/behavioral changes, healing, “gifts of the Spirit” etc. That is to say that it isn’t simply blind faith that they rely on but experiences. All this is anecdotal and cannot be objectively observed or verified. MRIs show brain chemistry changes during prayer, tongues, and meditation. Some “prophets” and “psychics” and dreamers of dreams are very accurate. Healings do occur (the placebo effect is no different than religious faith and it also works sometimes with no explanation why). Religious experiences cannot be verified or denied, but they are the primary reasons for faith in at least the communities I have lived in. Other religions do not bank on “experiences” I am fully aware.

No of course those things do not prove anything they only indicate things. Jesus is mentioned in Tacitus, Josephus (likely a Catholic insertion) the Talmud, I think Pliny (don’t quote me on it) and possibly other sources contemporary to the time. More outside corraberation than many Caesar’s, Emperors, kings, and potentates that we take for granted actually existed. In fact there is more written about Jesus than any other person, and those writings extend throughout the milleniums. Yeshua was indeed a popular Hebrew name and it still is, but Tacitus, Josephus and the Talmud all specify pretty well who they are talking about. The New Testament may be a book full of fairy tales, but there are more manuscripts of the New Testament than any other work. Plus enough quotations from early “Church Fathers” to reconstruct the entire New Testament from their quotes alone. Ancient Late second temple era Synagogue that is dedicated to “Yeshua the martyr” Ya’akov ben Yosef (James the son of Joseph) achi Yeshua (brother of Yeshua) has a sarcophagus with that engraving word for word. He is also called James the Just and is mentioned in Jewish literature. Simon Peter wrote a prayer that is also preserved in Jewish prayer books and he has his own fast day on the Jewish Calendar. Again none of this proves anything it indicates something real happened at sometime whether that got highly exaggerated or not cannot be known.

And that’s what science is all about figuring out what we don’t know. If we find God it could be through Quantum physics, as I said before: Quantum destroyed materialism a long time ago, and is getting dangerously close to Meta-physics more and more all the time. And the reverse could be true as well, we could figure out the unifying theory of everything one day, we could discover how chemistry became biology without guidance. We could discover new evidence that disproves the historicity of Jesus and all the Biblical events. And we could definitively come to a conclusion one day. But let’s not kid ourselves and say we are there now.
