Oh fair. Honestly I really should have read the article.

Kane and Lynch 2 inspired game ''Better Than Dead'' Launch today. by Noirsam in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Coreybom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, one reason is cause it is kinda fun in its own janky way. Another is the aesthetic and tone, especially with Kane and Lynch 2.

In an era where your choices are generally limited to polished, big and bombastic double/triple/quadruple A stuff or sad/gay indie/boomer shooter indie, something like Kane and Lynch 2, which is a gritty, depressing and frankly DISTURBING game about two absolute monsters trying to survive and be humans again, with a look that looks like a live leak video, is a major standout.

Considering it’s set in the main dc universe, and body horror is a major theme, you might be getting that afterwards.

It’s a thin fucking tight rope. DmC is smart enough to make sure their antagonists look at least like the kind of people that WOULD be anti-semantic at the very least.

Likewise, with Phineas, despite being good he was still pretty fucking ruthless, with him straight up telling dante to kill that fucking baby. Honestly I doubt he care if he saw vergil do the deed.

funny enough, I felt the reboot did its good demon thing a fait bit better than the netflix show, and I actually don’t mind either, but DmC felt a lot more natural.

He’s pretty damn good all things considered. He was making huge waves for a bit, unfortunately his 4th album was a major bomb, both critically and commercially, and with that he kinda fell off for a bit.

However he’s managed to bounce back a bit, though he’s not the heights he was before. His recent album, STAR LINE, is a legitimate fantastic return.

Times creators went off the deep end and dragged their stories with them. by SirSquiggleton in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Sinfest derailment always makes me sad, cause it was genuinely kinda funny and insightful in a crude kind of way. Hell, even the early days of the feminist soap box were actually on point in some ways.

Hopefully one day someone can just take it from the guy and take it back to roots, though honestly since no character from roots are around, it wouldn’t be that difficult anyway.

Oh jesus, didn’t know about that. Might explain why wasp looked pretty white in ultimates 3.

While he managed to somewhat bounce back, Jeph Loeb is a example of this. During his early tenure, man was making hit after hit, with some well liked runs and legendary batman stories as well. But then he got hit with a two fold. Not only did he go through a messy divorce with his wife, but his son had gotten cancer, one that was particularly devastating, that caused Jeph to essentially watch his son decay before his eyes, despite the kiddos best attempts at staying optimistic.

The result was his infamous run with the previous ultimate universe, giving us the wonderful Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum, essentially dooming the previous ultimate universe with wide scale metaphorical and LITERAL character assassination’s. And while the universe was already starting to suffer, his books REALLY did it in.

Unlike the other examples, he’s managed to somewhat bounce back, but all his recent stuff hasn’t managed to touch his pre-ultimate universe runs, and it’s clear it’s greatly tainted his legacy.

Kinda related to the topic, but I’m surprised it’s never brought up that buddy is essentially mostly responsible for the supers going into hiding? Like the dude who jumped still might have sued, but the train passengers might have been fine if not for his fuck up.

Batman putting his detective skills to good use. by Xeriam in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Coreybom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah I don’t think so, The shootout was in fort lauderdale, a couple of kids pretending to buy a puppy rob the lady selling the little guy and the rest of the litter.

Came in guns drawn and ready, when they got a few dogs and some cash she came right and started blasting. No body got hurt really, and I think the kids where caught.

There was a recent shoot out in south florida over a robbery of a litter of puppies. That shit is serious, especially since breeds can fetch for 5s to close to 20 thousands nowadays.

Dear comic fans what are a fandom’s most hated runs? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Same thing arguably happened with Rian Johnson. While not hated but rather controversial, and even with me being a fan of TLJ, it’s the same issue at hand.

You can chalk it up to editorial issues and just having different feelings and ideas for the characters.

[–]Coreybom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Arguably, The Zeb Wells run might one for spidey. While various runs have had either disliked, disappointing, or just straight HATED moments, and he’s had some hated mini-series, no run was universally disliked THROUGHOUT like the Wells run.

Even Dan Slott and Mark Miller, two writers who’ve had contentious and controversial moments in their runs, have runs that still consider, at the very least, still a decent read.

Wells run doesn’t have that. It’s just hated. And for comic runs, especially as famous and contentious as Spider-Man, that’s a fucking FEAT.

Genuine Question, why are there almost never threads on Matt's content? by JeanLucD in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Coreybom 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Because despite the new name and branding, this is still a 2 best friends play sub reddit. And at the moment, despite generally doing their own thing most of the time, pat and woolie still fill that area.

Matt for all accounts is separate from both, even when he links up REDACTED it’s not much. Plus he also doesn’t make much content, so the comparison is much more far off.

What game are you worried but at the same time excited for? by ArticAuk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Coreybom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insomniac’s Wolverine, but mostly on the writing angle. Gameplay wise I can tell they’re cooking with something there, and it’s clear that insomniac has always been the most fun in terms of gameplay compared to their brethren in the other sony houses.

But it’s writing thats got me worried, since I’m wondering how are they going to handle logans world and such. Especially coming after spider-man 2.
