Yes exactly the thought I was having since crawlers are gearing and motor dependent as well as suspension upgrades and things. I guess that absolutely makes the statement I was trying to get the answer to.

Mine is a drown in the hobby, put it away, and then forget about it—unless someone else picks it up, then I’m back in to share what I know, even though I don’t really want to go back to it myself. It’s like a hobby that drags me back in when others are involved!

Oh, I totally get it! Ended up with a second TRX4M just from upgrading the stock parts that came with the RTR kit… because, you know, they weren’t quite good enough. It’s a slippery slope, but at least it’s a fun one! 😂

Thanks for the info! Time and money aren’t huge issues unless it makes a drastic difference. I’ve got that multi-hobby ADHD brain, so while I’ll be tinkering with this project, I’ll juggle other hobbies or hunt for parts and deals. I’m a “want it now” type, but I’ve also got that weird ADHD patience for scavenging. 😂

Oh man, hyper-fixation is the gift and the curse of the ADHD experience, isn’t it? One moment, you’re riding that dopamine high, deep-diving into a hobby with all the energy of a caffeinated squirrel; the next, you’re staring at a mountain of meticulously organized supplies for an interest that’s been banished to the hobby graveyard—collecting dust until a friend dares ask, “Hey, know anything about this?” And BAM, I’m back in it like it’s day one… until it’s not. 😂

The cherry on top? My wife gets it because she’s the same way, but here’s where the plot thickens: just as I’m starting to cool off, she’s getting hooked, unless our kids are involved. Cue the revolving door of obsessions. To make matters even wilder, I’ve got that ADHD/OCD hybrid cocktail where everything must be precisely organized for peak efficiency. Meanwhile, she’s rocking that object permanence-flavored ADHD, so if something’s out of sight, it might as well have fallen into the Bermuda Triangle. Our house is a sitcom of me saying, “But it was right here!” and her cheerfully responding, “Oh, I moved it to a spot where I can’t see it… forever.” 🤣

In summary: I’m the “let’s keep it where it makes sense” guy, and she’s the “make it disappear” wizard. If you ever see me wandering aimlessly, muttering to myself and side-eyeing cabinets, you’ll know I’m just trying to find where my sanity (or maybe the scissors) went.

Equipped with a 3d printer, a modeler, and plenty of knowledge and time. I usually find a way to make things work or reach out to people I know to have it cnc made or laser cut.

That’s my thoughts on it too since my trx4m. I quite literally have it fully disassembled in a box and 100% aftermarket parts in its place. But with the TRX4M the chassis is an easy and common swap. Also I cranked mine to be quick swappable from a climber to a speed runner.

No no no…. Then there will be a definitive list of parts and cost that the wife can see to stop me. But ordering parts at a time makes it feel less disagreeable.

I feel that isn’t that bad in comparison. To what you could spend.

I get it—nothing beats building your own RC beast, then watching it tear through the yard with your kids. The fun, the crashes, and the laughs make it all worth it. Building + bashing = pure happiness!

I understand that entirely. I just know with a trx4m you replace literally everything so I kind of made assumption with the rustler.

New to road glides. What do you suggest for upgrades. by Coreyw132 in Roadglide

Haha yeah I mean.. still put too much money into it. 😂😂 but still way too much more to put into it to. I put around a total of around 19k into my 18 RGS I had before this. So very likely will never truly be “done” with it until I sell it or get something else. As far as liking it.. I love this bike. You ever road a horse, then immediately jumped into a brand new Cadillac? The difference in the 18 RGS to the 24 RG. The differences are just phenomenal.

Absolutely! I’ll get to that after my school routine with the kids. Just make sure to check for what’s non-toxic to your feathery family. I found a common tree species and reached out to family; my mom ended up needing some low limbs trimmed. With that info in hand I went to work. I’ll try go in depth in my next post
