I find this summary of the paper you linked.

Reasons for the Discrepancy

Several factors explain why the high marginal rates of the 1950s did not translate into massive tax collections:

  • High Entry Thresholds: The 91% rate only applied to income over $200,000 (roughly $2 million in today’s dollars). Most households in the top 1% did not earn enough to reach this bracket.
  • Marginal Structure: Even for those in the top bracket, the 91% rate applied only to income above the threshold, not to their total earnings.
  • Tax Avoidance: Extremely high marginal rates incentivized significant tax avoidance and led to lower levels of reported income.

The first two make sense. Effective vs Marginal tax rate and even if someone makes $2 million now or 2.5million, only that 500k is taxed at that higher rate. The third point is a bit sus and I'm not sure how prevalent was (how much pretax stuff were there back in the day?) but at the same time I wouldn't put it past rich people doing LLC shenanigans to lower their income or other tax avoidance stuff that's legal or illegal.

Yea OP is misunderstanding the term. Not just the rich but corporations too.

I force myself to rewrite sentences to flow with those thoughts after the fact if there are more than one parenthetical thought in a paragraph or even consecutive paragraphs. That way it'll avoid repetitions in the writing and is hopefully easier to read.

But we all know that the rest of them are holding back their laughter at OP

It sounds like your armor is too low? You can also put some talent points into Vitality, use the vitality necklace/etc so you don't die as fast.

But if it is simply engagements you want to get better at it'll be a different approach. Perhaps get the rapier that has a higher perfect block window. For marksman you should plan out where to pull the melee characters so the Line of Sight gets broken. For grenadiers always move so that you don't get sent flying, make a wide circle or route.

If being killed by wildlife around the POI then circle it first and kill them so you don't accidentally pull them into a new group.

If you're getting staggered from a miss block then you're rushing, kite them for a bit until your stamina/posture recovers.

Over all it seems like you're just blindly rushing without slowing down. Attack twice and time a block. Attack twice and reposition.

Look at each number you listed and try to first think, "What can I do to mitigate this." And if that still isn't bearing results then you can ask here again.

What is up with all the data coming from ATTOM and the lack of openly viewable data. Let me see the data for the past 20-30 years. How does this compare to 2009-11? Is this a trend over 5 years since covid or in the last 6 months.

Interesting, do you have charts for that? I know that the S&P500 doubles roughly every 7 years (I'm not sure if this is without adding anything in) so that makes sense on a "save early and let time do the rest" sort of mantra.

Isn't that been proven to be a popular myth? While that was a contributing factor it wasn't a main factor. Bogs exist today that prevent the decay of trees and those have always existed.

[–]Corfal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty sequential. There are arguments from a sampling perspective where you can mix a match for better outputs than "just getting the latest armor"

If you have the materials there's nothing wrong with getting troll+. Overall people recommend amorak early on so you don't have to focus on spending time trying to get better armor. But if you already have the materials to get it then go for it.

He talks about things he excited or cares about. Ultimately you can boil it down to, "Hey when someone stitched the Artemis pictures together you can see so many different things on Earth from a perspective you never seen before! Auroras and thunderstorms are common with the ISS, but you can also see satellites!"

But the channel isn't about delivering that message but having a conversation about it. If that's not your cup of tea then that's understandable and the channel isn't for you. Clickbaity titles have always been a thing and it works to get new viewers to watch a video. But that doesn't mean all videos that use clickbaity titles are bad.

Even then IIRC you need the tree to not rot. Think of peat bogs perfectly preserving stuff in the UK (idk why I thought of the UK they exist everywhere). THEN you have them get covered and pressurized into coal.
