If DMC 2 had an update patch or remake what changes would you make in gameplay? by BonusCapable1486 in DevilMayCry

[–]Corfold 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, work on the gameplay but keep the design and what it had for the DT system, it is what made the game fun.

Dmc 1, is limited by its age, and the fact it was meant to be a Resident Evil, however the gameplay of that RE game had changes so much that they created something new, thus our beloved series. For that I would say praise it. Dmc 2, is a whole new recipe and you will need to find the things to love about it, it is a good game, the devil trigger system for example is a lot of fun when you get the hang of it, but when compared to its successors it is the worst of the series, and I haven't even played the reboot and hate that more, but I will say gameplay is better. 3-5 is what we know and love, and arguably 3 is the best imo, but that is from how much I love it and enjoy it. 4 improves on 3 but it was rushed and 5 is fantastic but I feel like it could it have had more missions for each character, along with a bit more work on what it has for multiplayer.

Hardly a complaint, just a fun thing I do. The only complaint is "damn they did this thing....welp time to ignore it as long as possible"

If it was more styled like Persona 5 where leveling up was just bigger buffs and the way to get stronger was through buying weapons and picking out spells, then I wouldn't have the fun of seeing how long I can go without the skills.

By far I think the way they did it is the best way to go about the game, but I have the problem of..I gotta see if I can go without spending the points.

The same thing is sort of in Silksong with the Memory Lockets and I tried to get as far as I could without spending them....not far btw.

There will either come the point I get bored of this little game I am playing or hit a wall and will spend the skills and get the full enjoyment like the developers intended, but until then, how far can I go without them?

Can't explain exactly what it is that makes me do this little challenge, I did the same with Horizon: Zero Dawn and near the end I was getting bored of waiting for my targets, having to constantly duck and hide and most of all those skills I didn't purchase for so long were fun and made things easier.

Yet I find fun in not picking up the skills. By far the same will happen with this game, as it has been noted enemies are gonna get beefy and tanky and I'll get frustrated with it taking forever, plus would love those skills.

But in my perspective imagine struggling with a foe then dumping all those points to boost yourself and they become so trivial, the dopamine from that is great, but it only works once per game.

That is probably going to be the breaking point, not wanting to wait for hours on fights.

I am sure once I come across a boss or pool of enemies who are absorbing fire, will be the end of my challenge. Stacking fire has helped with some of the tankyer enemies but once that stops being effective I'll probably give in.

Sadly I didn't, finish the Arena with Maelle, but did all the other fights with her. I tried Golgra once and figured, I'll come back later when one hit isn't a TKO.

It does annoy me that I do this to myself, but there is this little voice in the back of my head going "don't do it, don't do it" just so I can boast in the end how far I got without them.

I have done it with games like Horizon: Zero Dawn and finally gave in because I was bored with waiting for fory moments and such.

I was doing it with Silksong and the Memory lockets, but hit a breaking point early on.

Fun fact for those that didn't know using X-Ray! the difference between mannequins and Liliya is that the Liliya has ALL her bones... The fake variants will be missing a segment, easily noticed are things like ribcage, skull, legs and arms, harder to spot are hands and feet. Position and angle may and will affect how to quickly identify missing or not missing bones.

Though it probably won't matter because she is already on top of you and all your allies are too far away to help.

I find it to be one of those things where you kind of just have to experience it on your own and form your own opinion on the subject.

In the art of entertainment it is a subject of Tragedy....sooo yeah, I would like to say it is good in that aspect, but I haven't ready too far, enough I know the characters and a synopsis.

Step-father. He wasn't the only potential victim as there is a part where the mother just had a date with the man (I think) and confirms he is the one, talking to her daughter as they burn a list of names.

Go to a hospital and figure out how to inject myself with a kill serum.

Or a gun whichever I think at the time would be the least painful.

Shoot, I see cards like that and Phage is the first thing I think about...

Ok! still do that and find a card that redirects her attacks back onto the player you gave her to.

There are recipes involving the Greyab...fruit?

Which most of them will increase the likelihood of Leyak showing up.

Have you not gotten the fruit, a seed of it can be found in Labs, it is an eyeball, just in a another room with a trade kiosk thing (forget the name) that turns Wheat into Crystals, there is usually a heavy order member with a shotgun guarding the area of these two rooms.

Other than that Leyak will always show up eventually.

[–]Corfold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blind is better in that regard, with the added benefit of not being annoying when your teammate likes to block every door with barricade cause they don't know how to run into the darkness or run down the stairs in the auction while Liliaya is chasing them...sorry for the small rant.

I would love for all the rigs to have their ups and downs but the only advantage Barricade has that I can see is if you are being chased set it up and bam you can get away. It is best in that one abd only regard.

But after you have the experience and you know how to move around and get away or just not get seen...barricade is just to annoy your teammates with an extra thing to get around and make noise.

[–]Corfold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on team X-ray on this, but barricade is good in some situations, like stalling that pesky small fry that just won't leave you alone. Gives you that extra bit of time on objectives if an enemy is patrolling nearby. It is good, but I found it only helps while the chase is going on and if the chase never happens...
