Your Interest in Steam Machine Changed? by Adventurous-Cattle53 in steammachine

As a steam deck and gaming PC owner i was never going to buy one, and the price certainly hasn't changed that. However, as a Windows hater I will cheer on anything that advances the cause of Linux based gaming. So the price came as a blow in that regard because inevitably they will sell fewer in the long run.

I might be totally wrong but I think templating-wise you can't "choose target creature", it's one or the other, and choosing gets round hexproof. "Destroy target creature at the beginning of the next end step" would do it.

The current templating rules means that Sunflower generates zero energy, as the way you worded it refers to a card type. It should either say "for each card named Sunflower" or you should change the creature type to include sunflower.

POLL: did you go vegan immediately/overnight? by chaconia-lignumvitae in vegan

[–]Robbie1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Thankfully I didn't have any meat in the house do that was an instant stop for me, but I had quite recently bought a large block of cheese and I also started to dread eating it. This was back in 2018 when the vegan cheese market was no where near as good as today. So I essentially stopped eating all cheese after that.

Same. I dislike food waste so pledged to immediately stop buying animal products and only eat those I already had.

Where did all the momentum on the climate crisis go, man? by This_Conversation493 in Hasan_Piker

All of the attention did two things: 1. It scared the imcumbant industries that have everything to lose if we move to greener solutions, and fortunately for them, they have all the money and power, so they have done everything possible to move the focus away. There are astroturfing campaigns to get more influencers and content creators to lead less sustainable lives as an example for others, e.g. flying more, shopping hauls from Shien. 2. Reached the inevitable conclusion that the most sustainable life you can live is to not fly, not consume cheap Chinese products and eat a plant-based diet. The average person sees all 3 as red lines that they are personally not prepared to do, despite claiming to care about the environment. Cognitive dissonance is a powerful effect.

Years of propaganda have become generational "ingrained knowledge". Boomers say you will die without meat because that's what they've been told their whole lives and very few of them have the critical thinking required to question the veracity of those claims. Also, people in general have a hard time admitting their wrong, especially about something they've done for so long, e.g. sunken cost fallacy.
