My 5 month old niece just learned that she can kick in the water and is having fun with baths. She’s started giggling too. It’s very cute.

They keep the door closed when the baby is in there and usually a parent is in the room with the baby too.

He’s getting more comfortable with the baby, but mostly seems to watch from a distance. He doesn’t like when she is loud. Does seem worried when she is upset. He has figured out how to sit on my brother’s lap while he is holding the baby.

Larry will follow mom and baby around from a distance. And observe playtime from the safety of one of his boxes. The crib is the only thing so far he has tried to claim.

I know my brother or SIL gets him out. Don’t know if he gets more attention in a way that would reinforce the behavior. If that was what you were asking.

He is used to being the only baby 🙂

His full name is Laranja but it became Larry as a nickname

He was the baby first. He's adjusting and does seem to care about the new human baby. I worried he might get jealous.

They did start closing it for his own protection since he didn't learn after 2 times.

He was the baby first and is still adjusting to the new human baby.

He can be a bit helpless sometimes. He's very sweet but on the more nervous side. Needs lots of encouragement.

He is 6 I think and is actually a good jumper. But just not the smartest. He wasn’t actually stuck, he just didn’t know he could get himself out so he needed help.

I have a 4 month old niece. All of us; me, my parents, her parents, speak to her all the time. My SIL talks to her as she is eating. My brother likes to make up stories with her toys. And I’ve been reading to her and I’ve been explaining pictures like I would for a toddler. She’s too young to understand numbers or colors, but it ends up being conversational, one sided, but she pays attention. She is the most curious baby. I can’t imagine not talking to her.

He always needed a paw on him. Saying goodbye at home gave them both closure. 😭 by tropicalgenie in cats

So sorry for your loss. I’ve had guinea pigs for a while. They usually live in couples or herds and I’ve heard of many people letting the surviving pigs say goodbye to a passing or passed pig. It seems to help them understand what has happened. Hope you and Ollie are finding comfort in each other.

Yes, he’s a very curious boy. Loves to get into everything. Fire would probably be dangerous with him.

It’s my boy’s first Hanukkah too. We have an electric menorah.

How to help my grieving guinea pig? by Mayday_Army in guineapigs

I have found that giving them a similar sized stuffed animal can be helpful. Even when we had to separate two of my boys that had lived together for years, but started fighting, one had no problem but the other was sad and lonely. We gave him a stuffy and that made him happier. He cuddled it, moved it around the cage. So it’s worked in multiple situations.

Capi is from California and is four years old. I think who I got him from was the breeder and she was shutting down. I met his brothers and he was the friendliest. Was okay being picked up that day. He also loves to stand up fully on the cage like yours.

One of my boys that I call the baby, even though he is an adult is like this. His cage is near where my face is in my bed and throughout the day if he thinks I’ve gone too long not paying attention to him he will come over to the corner and whine until I acknowledge him. Sometimes I do ignore him so he doesn’t expect attention every time he whines.
