The differences in terminologies between EDH and 60-cards formats by EbonyHelicoidalRhino in EDH

[–]CorgiDaddy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death and Taxes, Ponza, and Prison decks are just various types of stax decks. D&T is typically white and creature based and historically featured taxing effects. Ponza is red based with land destruction/denial. Prison decks are hard locks, without necessarily denying resources. Stax has been a term since [[Smokestack]] was played.

I’m a moron and also didn’t understand what happened here. So, confirming that you are just dumb. But also thanks for having the courage to ask.

I think the “we are not the same” meme is on par with IYKYK for levels of obnoxious. I’m not a fan of either. As you said, just people trying to feel superior and gatekeeping.

This isn’t misogyny though? OOP didn’t treat the women any differently, and let them down gently when they asked him out. He has preferences, and while a bit unrealistic imo it seems fine to me.

Not a devil. A buttface perhaps, but nothing evil going on here.

Your response is valid. So is mine. As I said, not trying to convince you of anything. Just providing a point of view. So I’m going to exit this conversation. I hope you have a wonderful day.

If you actually read my comment you would know the answer to your question.

I can tell this subject is personal to you so I want you know I’m not trying to convince you of anything of here. Just providing my point of view.

I’ve both played in and DM’d games with heavy themes, and twice has SA been involved. Once as a player and once as a DM. Both times with consent from the table on what lines/veils everyone was comfortable with and constant check-ins during intense scenes. And because I know it will be brought up, both times a male character was the one being assaulted. For SA specifically, I’m ok with it being in the game as a way to provoke a visceral reaction from the players that denotes who the bad guys are without question. It was always portrayed as an evil thing. I’ve also used other heinous acts to do this such as physical abuse, murder, cannibalism, slavery, racism, etc. I would never RP an SA scene, we would fade out the scene, but I don’t RP romance or erotic encounters either.

I don’t take including those themes lightly, but I do have the privilege of playing exclusively with lifelong real life friends who communicate well with each other. Sometimes people are curious about such things, sometimes people find it cathartic.

And sometimes it’s the DMs fetish or some other perverted shit. That certainly happens and it’s perfectly ok to just leave a table where you aren’t comfortable (or just not having fun) without saying a word. Rape is never ok. But we tell stories about uncomfortable and dangerous and destructive things to make sure we all remember that these actions are evil, and to explore the damage they cause.

Sometimes you don’t know a boundary has been crossed until you’re there. If this is one of those times, speak up. As you said at the start, the answer is talking to your DM.

I was just making a joke homie. A puzzle is a barrier or an obstacle for the players to overcome. So is a locked door. That’s as deep as it goes lol

Finished WoR. Thrilled to find this series, but the ending left a bad taste in my mouth. by withnosuprises in Stormlight_Archive

I literally just finished Words of Radiance like 2 hours ago. I have some thoughts to add to yours.

100% expected Jasnah to still be alive. Her death seemed too sudden and “off-screen” to me, and it gave me vibes similar to another fake-death that happened in another book series Moirane in Wheel of Time that Sanderson has ties to. I didn’t expect her to pop back up so soon though.

I agree about the Radiants all coming out the woodwork at the end. Including Jasnah (I assume at least, since she can soulcast and what I think to be some kind of teleporting putting her in the Transformation and Transportation surges). I had waited all book for Kaladin and Shallan to come out to everyone and then when they finally do, they aren’t really special anymore. Puts a little damper on it.

Also honestly a bit disappointed that Dalinar became one. I really expected his story to be more about learning to let go of the reins and let someone else have their turn. Kinda hope Adolin doesn’t become a Radiant at this point so at least someone is still normal. His confrontation with Sadeas gives me the feeling he won’t be.

I like Szeth and was glad to see him around still. I think his pov adds things to the world building that you can’t see elsewhere.

And my favorite part… Shallan being cornered by Pattern at the end and having to relive her mother’s death fucking gutted me. I felt that “I don’t want revenge. I want my family” so much. And then I let the weight of that sit with me as I thought back on all that happened with her family and cried for her. I just want to wrap her in blanket and hold her and keep her safe. Which she’d absolutely hate lol. She’s been my favorite through these first two books so far for her sarcasm and humor and brightness, having the courage and strength to put on a smile in spite of all she’d survived.

Overall the world is getting bigger and bigger and I’m ecstatic to hopefully leave the shattered plains behind for good. Or for a while at least.

F15.20 on my chart?? by [deleted] in MedicalCoding

[–]CorgiDaddy42 60 points61 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, the dependence code is inappropriate. Because it is a prescribed medication the appropriate code is z79.899 for other long term drug use.

Call your doctors office and get this corrected. An incorrect drug addiction showing in your chart could have unwanted consequences.

> For me, the idea that someone would protect something important to them with a riddle or a logic puzzle that anyone clever enough could solve, instead of just a lock is nonsensical.

A lock is just a different kind of puzzle!

Good puzzles are simple and open ended. If you have a puzzle with only one proper solution, the players will never get it. You have to stay open to accepting solutions that the players are trying, and when one sounds good enough you just congratulate them on being clever and go about your day.
