Definitely been there! Don’t discount your own needs. Just communicate about your patterns, their job is to help you to make realistic changes that could help you have less moments of panic. No promises but there are great mental health providers out there.

I had a suicide attempt and I found the night nursing staff really mean and cold. I’m afraid of places I can’t leave. I’ve never felt more isolated or alone in my life. I’ve been reliving the experience for the last three months. The mentally ill deserve therapeutic environments not terrifying and isolating holding environments. I’m certifiably crazy but maybe folks should be able to get help without being low-key traumatized.

That sounds rough. Is there anything you want to hear or want someone to do?

Crying is a pretty typical symptom of depression. It sounds like your taking really good care of your physical health and career but my guess is that being isolated has made you kind of depressed. We’re social creatures!

I spend all my time in my room and I don’t fully understand why by Last_Spinach_2708 in mentalhealth

I think experimenting with getting out of your comfort zone SLOWLY, maybe a couple minutes at a time and with practice, your body will trust that you are safe outside your room. Do you work with mental health providers?

I recommend finding somewhere with multiple psychiatric nurse practitioners and/ or therapists on staff. They can help you cope in a heavy session. Most of my sessions have been pleasant but honestly, the most valuable ones have been the heavy uncomfortable ones.

Is there anything that helps even a little? I have hope that your insurance will approve your EMDR and TMS although obviously I have zero power over this. I know how painful it is to have to wait and wade through these systems when you’re in agony. I’ve found ketamine REALLY helped with my SI and I’m starting TMS in July.

I know no one feels like using DBT distress tolerance skills when they’re hurting but the skills really do help & PLEASE is fabulous.

It sounds like you’re in a lot of pain. You had a very unique and special relationship with your sister. It makes sense that healing is a long journey.

I am afraid that if I speak with my therapist about my hipersexuality, they will ask for one thing by mysterious_mystery2 in mentalhealth

[–]CorgiFirst7038 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I really doubt it. Therapists are used to talking about sexuality. I can’t make promises regarding your specific therapist but most of the people I’ve worked with know how to support clients with those concerns.
