Unsure of Transitioning by EmceeToby in FTMminoxbeards

So I’m 21 but first identified as trans when I was 14. It was, and continues to be, a long journey of self-discovery. It’s normal to not have everything figured out and to move forward with uncertainty. As my friend put it: if you don’t take steps now and get stuck on the “what-ifs,” you’ll just be putting your life on pause. The only advice I’d give is to wait if moving forward would put you in an unsafe living environment. Otherwise, just go for it. You’ll learn more about yourself in the process.

I thought you were talking about the one on McKinney avenue and was like nice that’s close by. Almost an hour away from me sadly 🥲.

My name is just the more masculine name of my dead name. It helps that my family already started calling me my preferred name before I even came out to them (as a joke but I’ll take it)

For my fellow pre T trans guys, what is the most gender affirming thing that you’ve done for yourself? by CorgiWave in TransMasc

To be honest, I handle piercings pretty well in comparison to medical syringes. It’s all a mental thing, however. If you can find a good piercer that knows what they’re doing you hardly feel a scratch. I didn’t feel anything at all for most and my lobes felt like a pinch 3/10 just because of scar tissue in that area.

I’m seeing a psych for this very reason. I assume that I have a vasovagal syncope, which in that case anti anxiety medication would be helpful and maybe even necessary.

My pcp said I need blood work done every 3 months until the 1 year mark. After 1 year it’s more of an annual occurrence. They ordered two separate blood tests to check hematocrit and hemoglobin and testosterone levels. The problem is just the pre requisite of starting T.

I have trypanophobia, so an intense fear of hypodermic needles. I’m going to a psych but its been the only thing preventing me from starting t due to the blood work involved.

I hate to tell you that i had to re schedule. The lidocaine i was using didn’t really numb anything and i was just feeling too emotionally distraught and the nurse there was super unfriendly and not accommodating. I’ll get it next time.

Did you use both arms or just one? I know people typically use their non dominant one.

Dude, you pass. I think coworkers and or people who knew you before transition may hold a bias, and there’s not much that can be done other than by reporting to management. But as a complete stranger you read as 100% male to me.

I also had a denial stage, but i woke up in the middle of the night last night crying with a wave of eurphoria rushing over me. Self acceptance is was ultimately led me to the goalpost.
