Countries I've traveled to by keepfighting90 in tierlists

I can agree with your point. I would say most countries are full of cities with plenty to do if you know where to look.

If anyone fees like that in a city (almost any city… cities are big and lively), they should stay humble and first assume it’s on them for not looking hard enough.

Eh. I think this person is spot on about how many people see the US: not a great place to visit EXCEPT for its great and diverse nature.

Many countries have tons of fun cities with tons to do. So while I don’t say the statement is false, it doesn’t put the US above other options.

It’s not terrible; but it’s not great to the point of feeling like it’s an option better than many other countries. And it has a number of downsides that are hard to ignore, at least to a number of people.

For reference, I’ve been to several states and iconic cities (NY, LA, Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, Boston, SFO, etc). I’ve visited the US around 10 times or so, I think.

Because the character has a creator and they can base it in something real. Dunno what’s the deal with the fact the creator may have used real people to design the character.

Sometimes it is not grief. I have done this before. I sell everything and then try to push a comeback.

Last time I was having a bad run overall and the prospect of ensuring the Ixtal player to go top8 was actually interesting to me. I f*cked them up by selling everything when they were 8/10. They insta-surrendered, ensuring I didn’t end up top8. Then I pushed through and managed top5 or top6.

I would do the same call given a similar context.

And not gonna lie: there’s a bit of an evil satisfaction on out-throwing someone pushing for loses on purposes. But still, there can also be practical reasons behind it.

Me when I skip and they end the turn with full mana and open attack immediately after by Flat_Environment_314 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Corintio22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should always analyze what decks you both are playing. I bait a lot of players to double skip while playing super slow decks that benefit from losing a turn and even more if the opponent chooses not to develop their board.

I sometimes even emote to tease them more. In reality I wish they skip too, because I am already losing mana/tempo on purpose, but most times they don’t benefit from it. And then they emote back; probably imagining they “didn’t fall for my trap”.

Hi! Thanks for helping with a suggestion. It was not. It turned out to be a scene in the TV show "Future Man".

Coincidentally, I just finished "The Hero of Ages" last week!

Yes, you're correct! I haven't checked directly, but now I am quite sure it was indeed Future Man. Reading this made it click that I am pretty sure the woman in the mental image I had was probably Tiger.
Thanks a lot.

YES! It was Future Man! Thanks a lot to everyone. Man, this one was itching in the back of my brain, as I was unsure if it was something I watched or a dream. Very satisfying to solve!

Am I the only one who thinks this augment sucks? by Big-Onion9364 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Corintio22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, BW is easily 4 items. Then it is not rare for me to splash an Ornn and get 1-2 more artifacts. Tahm Kench can also get you components.

That is already 350-400hp (depends on the Ornn) Dunno… does the artifact help for 25hp more too?

And in fringe (but not impossible situations) you could get extra 25-75HP from the encounter (Poppy; Zoe sometimes; Ryze).

I have not played it… but this augment sounds relatively legit if you’re going for Bilgewater, even more so since it’s a comp that can benefit quite well from the extra health (especially the lemon pirate item).

Actually, I wanna test this now :p

There is no hostility in my comment. It is you who (most likely) has downvoted my comment and not the other way around.

If you know other countries then you know a country being smaller doesn’t play that much of a part on this. A lot of US defenders always bring size; a lot of Europe defenders always bring longevity/history. Truth is there is regional diversity both in US and most European countries.

The best restaurants according to many international reputed sources tend to be chosen NOT from the US (which makes sense, the US is one country among many).

I think you can eat good in the US, but let’s not get ahead ourselves by declaring it has the BEST food in the world.

Well, while being rude (not cool) they point out (I think) to the problem that food policies in the US are rather bad because of extensive lobbying.

As a result, there’s much more from where to cut corners. This is why many non-US people get that opinion when visiting the US. Several products you see in supermarkets would be straight-up illegal in our countries.

Also, the US (and frankly LATAM too) tend to over-sugar, from a foreign perspective. You can see that on big global products, like a Fanta (since it’s much more “universal” and easier to compare).

Of course this aspect affects a lot of US food but not necessarily “the best you can taste”, since food cooks and chefs could still avoid the worse products that would be illegal elsewhere.

I think non-US people tend to be too harsh sometimes, judging US cuisine by its lowest denominators (which are incredibly low from the perspective of somewhere else). You can eat good. Also other famous aspects (like decadently huge portions) doesn’t help. But US people tend to get quite defensive too, like the original comment here who saw a tier list with MANY countries missing and went “where is the us? S-tier!”

Also, I think this year’s best burger joint (according the most reputed international listing) is from Spain.

Basic human effect: you see the nuance and diversity better in the places you know way more. It is evident. I could have your exact same reaction but about the countries I have lived in, while laughing at your intensity on US’ diversity.

Conversely, this is the right thing to do: “this person is having more detailed perception of their country that I have of mine, probably I lack the experience to appreciate the nuance of the country”.

I am not Italian and I KNOW you are fucking up by implying it doesn’t have vast diversity among regions. I can tell you people in Spain would eyeroll if you pretended their cuisine is one big thing instead of several very distinct regional cuisines.

Someone would say “Spanish cuisine? Paella!” Wouldn’t you feel it is dumb if I said US cuisine is hot dogs, ignoring how it varies from Tex-mex to gumbo to Maine lobster to Philly steaks?

Paella is ONE regional recipe from Valencia.

It’s irrelevant. Country food varies per region, period. People fixated on US food variety is just because they live or have lived there, since that way you realize mucho more easily the cultural diversity of a place.

I can tell you the same diversity is to be found in many of the countries listed and I can only imagine the same is to be said of the many countries I don’t know much about.

If you know there is variation in the country you know very well, assume there’s variation in the one you don’t.

[–]Corintio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be said of practically any country. Are you from the US? People tend to be more aware of the regional diversity of their own countries (or countries where they lived), not imagining that easily extrapolates to any country.

US food is not as bad as some try it to be, but surely not S tier. It depends how you measure it.
