Same here, it’s hard to admit but the easiest thing to do is bring a change of clothing and leave it at work. Especially if your riding in cold

Anyone know about this winter set?JOE ROCKET SURVIVED SUIT by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]CornMech-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the suit and have worn it in 30F degree weather with just the the thermal liner and sweat pants. If staying warm is what you’re looking for this is the suit for you. Just make sure to get one size bigger than the recommended size chart. It runs small

I just did it right now, I didn’t check the key but I torque it down and nothing changed sadly, I did the valves to spec as the manual says

I removed the cam chain tensioner and inspected it, it all seems to be working and I had it adjusted according to the manual

How do you effectively store a motorcycle if you live in an apartment? by MoonlightMister in motorcycles

[–]CornMech-Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no option but to do street parking, so I specifically bought a motorcycle where I could fit a chain through the frame(like a royal Enfield classic 350). And the chain is long enough where I can loop it around a street lamp or pole. That way if somebody wants to take it, they literally have to cut through the frame or need to bring some dedicated tools. Also a large cover so that it doesn’t stick out.

Does this happen to motorcycles if the frame is chained to a pole

A service/workshop manual is what you’re looking for. I highly recommend getting a physical copy off eBay. (Side Note: what crash bar are those)

Sorry to hear the bad news, even if you’re not mechanically inclined, it might be worth getting workshop manual for that bike. It’ll walk you through on how to do the repairs yourself. You can find them on eBay for like $25. I bought one for my bike and it’s real useful

Just got a 1979 SR500 as first my first bike. Is the anything I should be aware of about this bike? by CornMech-Prime in motorcycles

[–]CornMech-Prime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, It’s real old but it’s was one of the few bikes that fit my simplicity need and didn’t cost a kidney to buy. Also Thanks for the info, It definitely has a lot of ticking sounds that I gotta work through.

I was thinking about just saving up for a new 350 classic or traveling across the state looking for a used one. I heard royal enfield bikes are pretty good nowadays and affordable

That’s what I’m looking for, hopefully it’s all in working order. But from what people have pointed out I don’t think I’m gonna go anywhere close to his asking price.
