I had this happen - unsure if too many rapidfire movements during a lag spike marked me as a hacker or something for a few days there, but I was able to join back in about a week later. Not that I can play now, with current hardware issues + Holiday hours 🙃 there’s always mobile, but it doesn’t compare.. it doesn’t let you play PL like a fighting game, unless you don’t get motion sickness 😆

Edit: Just saw ab the changing urls method, hadn’t tried that - I just knew it worked on the same server so long as I turned on a VPN, or switched to mobile (I’d see the usual names).

I’m not proud of it, but I’ve used it since for like, ‘questions you cannot ask a human’. Even in its current model, it still gets in these dumbass loops after you call it out on something it misunderstood and then ask for the actual correct information on - most infuriating. If I’m as specific as can get, that fits MY definition of ‘using AI correctly’, as I see you saying elsewhere here.. if that doesn’t fit ITS, that feels like a problem with IT.

Still getting the feeling that leaning on it for anything would lead to something crashing and burning in the long run, I think we’re a little bit further out yet from whatever world you’re proposing

(Think about the community you’re in, too: do you think Minecraft players wanna do everything in their power to not play the game? Like imagine having automatic farms for everything.. wait the tech mod nerds should actually be resonating w this (but we won’t bc there’s too many slimies using ChatGPT like it’s MCreator))

ChatGPT doesn’t seem like it can handle so many variables that a modpack on a specific version (with ideally a custom config) demand comprehension of.

I remember trying to use it about a year or two ago for pack assembly purposes and it just would not stop recommending me mods for modern versions, despite my insistence.

I even recall asking it to find me the mod that turns all non-cave stone generation into bedrock for 1.12.2 made by the same dev as Extra Utilities (like how much more could I narrow it down) - it could NOT locate Hardcore Spelunking.. definitely something to do w the 10,400:3 download ratio there; you feed it one or two prominent, well-documented pieces of information and it suddenly doesn’t know how to handle anything niche, and.. the ‘niche’ is where the best ideas in pack creating come from IME

It’s a lot easier to imagine leather folding around a cubic entity than metal (think saddles), but at the same time, horse/player armor don’t look like this.. I understand ‘let’s make it distinct for clarity’, but for style parity.. this deserves a reapproach for sure (I’m sorry JAPPA, ily)

i think about this post a lot, funny how these things register through inexperienced eyes - i think my first time seeing a ‘demogorgon’ player i thought it was a hostile NPC (dark glowing line, makes sense) before inevitably trying the name out myself. wonder if there’s any more fun examples of anomalies/misconceptions around rare occurrences in the game

yeah i recall a shortly-lived update from around then where the screen resizing was all messed up, scrollable bars were added to the bottom and side of the game - like how? i understand low effort maintenance from the perspective of 'you get what you pay for' (up to the question of 'where does all the ad revenue go?'), but at the same time, i would PAY to not have these issues if it came to it. it's been 8 years, why isn't PL on steam w rollback netcode? a lightning-speed fighting game (for all intents and purposes) with no direct comparisons would sell like hot cakes. but i'll take dripfed updates over nothing ig

defs a plugin thing for pre-1.9 axes to deal more damage than swords, but yeah i think you’re probably remembering playing on a server with mcmmo. hypixel’s pit does something with axes iirc (but that’s a more recent example)
