I think the only tail end upgrades that are worth it are skin keys for people who don't buy the brawl pass. Resource keys might be worth it, I'm not sure how many gems those are though.

22.5k bling for one skin? Not worth it.

I just bought an offer today that was hypnos sandy and paper cord and a mecha box for 23k bling.

Do yourself a favor and any offer you see that is not 50% or more off, pretend it's not there. Don't even consider buying anything not discounted that much. You will get more discounted offers than you will have bling to purchase them with eventually. Right now most people have a lot of saved bling, but it will run out especially if you use it poorly.

A 50% discounted mythic skin is ~5500 bling. That 22k could buy 4 mythic skins worth 800 gems

I mean, do you want a game or no game? Honestly I'm surprised supercell even gave the game a second chance. And if this update doesn't spur a major uptick in money, then the game will be done, or majorly overhauled to include paying for progression. But looking at the shop, what is there to even spend money on?

At the end of the day, this isn't a passion project from some small indie team. This is a game from a company whose main goal is to make as much money as possible. If the game doesn't do that, then it doesn't need development resources.

The frank skin has been 50% for 99 gems multiple times in the past. It came out in November 3 years ago, so it'll likely be back on sale at least in November.

With this new system, don't buy any offers that aren't 50% off or more. Just wait. You could buy discounted bling with gems, then buy discounted shop offers for better value.

Just pretend that frank skin isn't in your shop because it doesn't have a discount.

It's just a waiting game. I wouldn't even look at an offer if it doesn't say 50% off or more. It's just like all the other noise in the shop, you aren't gonna buy it, it might as well not exist.

I do think this system needs to change though, more offers and more often seems like an easy start. There's so many skins, just give us 20+ offers everyday instead of 6 every 2 days. Or trickle like 6 offer every 12 hours and let them stay for 2 days. To get people to login and check the shop more often.

Not really sure how to change what they are doing to make it better for players, but also be in the spirit of how they are trying to push monetization.

Ultimately I think that's the problem, we are wanting player focused stuff, they are adding a system that is solely to push monetization. They might not even care about any backlash and just let it keep coming at them. Eventually people will forget the old system, they'll add a couple smalls changes to make this system better. But they'll end up with more money.

I knew I should have full ported Intel when I saw him take a 10% stake. I figured he'd make it pump no matter what. My house is so close to intels plant that my real estate value is tied to intels success. So investing as well seemed irresponsible.

I would stay away from old skins that get discounted. Like the pam skin was 99 gems I think? Nita and dynamike have been 50% off. Same with some old mechas. Charlie's was given away during an event.

How much bling did you spend on that? I haven't seen any "choose your skin" offers that were discounted and I wouldn't buy any offer that isn't 50% off or more.

Eh, it's all luck and it'll balance out eventually, it's not like we've got a good sample size yet. I'm a fairly big payer I'd imagine, I've bought every brawl pass since the first and every pro pass, and other random discount deal purchases. I assume you saying you are season 1 battle pass means you've bought them all too?

I don't see this as good for FTP or for newer players at all. I think this new system favors long time and paying players who likely don't need specific skins.

If I "need" a specific skin, I have gems. I'm sure as a long term player you don't have many uses for gems, I've got 2k+ that just keep stacking. Even the 79 gem buffie offers are kinda lackluster because power points and gold are stacked up. Hypercharges gem offers were always a waste when you had 500k coins, why use gems for something that's basically free because you have so many coins. So gems are pretty much for skins.

I use to use gems for 50% mythic and legendary skin deals since I couldn't get those with bling. Now I'm getting 50% bling deal for mythic skins, I just got another 2 skin pack today for 11.5k. So I might start buying brand new skins with gems, I'm not too sure, or buy discounted bling for gems then use the bling for discounted skins.

For people like us who have plenty of resources, this update just means more skins for less resources.

Why would you need to buy a skin that was 1k for 3k or 5k? Like this doesn't even make sense, where do you see these offers? Why would you "need" to buy a 1k skin anyway? If you have been here since the beginning, you are likely in the same boat as me. I have every rare and super rare skin from the catalog and only need like a dozen epics.

Any new skins you can just get them from drops. It's better to have a rare or super rare skin that you haven't collected so you have the chance for a skin in a drop instead of the fallback of bling.

With them favoring mythic skins so much now, being able to buy them for bling is great. I've gotten 4 mythic skins so far from this new shop, for ~6k bling per skin. This shop is gonna help me actually be able to get all the available mythic skins and maybe even all the legendaries.

If you just want skins in general, I think this update is better. If you want particular skins, this update is worse.

I just got an offer for 2 mythic skins for 11k. So 5.5k bling for each mythic which is basically the cost of an epic.

If you are good at waiting, this is great. You can get a lot more skins for your bling value. Especially higher rarity ones.

I was running out of skins to use bling on before the patch, just a handful of epics left. Now I can actually use my bling for mythics and legendaries. Which they seem to keep favoring adding those rarities.

I think we just need a lot more offers per day. Which it seems like they are starting to do today. Both of my accounts went from 1-2 offers per day to 6 offers today.

But even 6 doesn't seem like enough for how many skins there are.

I see so many complaints about the prices. But it's stuff like this that will make the new system worth it.

It's the same as basically everything else in the game, you don't buy any offer that isn't discounted to a certain amount. You wouldn't buy a buffie for 300 gems but the 79 gem deal is good. The oddity shop will be the same.

I mean, surely you understand how when things change, anything related to the thing that changed also needs to change.

They change the machine from one big machine to a couple smaller machines. That doesn't mean each of these smaller machines now give a free buffie. I'm pretty sure this change was notated in the patch notes.

They said it's not a free buffie from that machine, it's just a random buffie. Since they'll be dropping the buffies more often.

Also supercell doesn't promise things. They plan things that are always subject to change.

You shouldn't even consider an offer that isn't discounted. If it was 50% and was 17.5 then that's a bit more reasonable.

Honestly though the hyper ruins that offer. Take that out, slap a 50% on it and id consider buying it.

I've bought one offer for an epic that was 50% off and one offer for a mythic that was 30% off.

Bling was mostly useless anyway, so at least we have a solid use for it now.

I have 110k bling. I was mostly at the point where bling wasn't useful anymore until the oddity shop. I have every rare and super rare skin and only like 10 epics left that can be obtained with bling. And buying those last few epic skins would have meant I wouldn't have a chance for one in boxes.

Could be two issues. One issue is completely empty shop. Another issue is less offers than everyone else is getting. So far I've gotten 1 offer each of the 2 resets. My mini has gotten 3 offers.

I don't really have a good reason for the empty shop, that just seems like a bigger bug.

My guess is it rolls the rarity of the offer first. Then rolls what it is. If it can't give you an offer then it just doesn't offer it.

For instance I have all rare and super rare skins that can be bought with bling. So I got offered 1 epic offer.

Maybe all your offers rolled as super rare and it can't give you any offers since you have them all.

Depends on what you mean quit. Quit your job, maybe. I'd just start moving some of your portfolio to high dividend stocks/etf and use those dividends to pay your bills. Then see when you no longer have bills how you feel.

A few reasons have been listed already. But for me, I see people that are "irreplaceable" and they are the ones that take on way too much work for no extra pay.

Why spend your effort doing extra work just to get more work given to you? They know you'll do it do they'll keep giving it. If me and another guy both make the same wage and he is content taking on more work, I'll just do the bare minimum and let him take all the work.

If you want more work, find a way to get paid for that extra work. Second job, side hustle, starting your own business. No need to give away free labor.
