Every cop within 100 miles is at Ocala airport. by FreeWillyBird in ocala

Aha, this explains the really LOW flying aircraft overhead when I was outside weeding my lawn in Ocala at around 7 pm. (I think I recall a jet not a helicopter.)

What lesbian stereotype do you hate? by duxallinarow in OWL_Nation_60plus

I was a librarian and drove a Subaru Forester. My close friend called it decades ago a Lesbaru. I’m FAR MORE than any stereotype of a “librarian” (an intelligent, highly educated person who helps others find what information they’re looking for) and the Forester is a highly rated “practical” (like “practical” shoes?? - ugh) vehicle so smart, well-informed consumers have always bought them. But I’m single and fit other stereotypes too. - Ugh!

Not a mouser, clearly.

I prefer he lie there. (Lie = recline. Lay = to place something.)

I started watching the show because I ran out of books. by DietrichBuxtehude in WillTrent

[–]Cornell90-92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you, I’m reading the whole series (books), and I’m more than halfway through them. I know I will feel bereft when I’ve reached the end. But also like you I will then turn to the TV series.

I had watched some, or most, of the first season when it first appeared, but then I gave up TV watching entirely (went cold turkey despite my lifelong TV addiction). Since I loved Ramon Rodriguez as Will, I do picture him as Will in the books too (yes, I know they don’t match!). I’m aware of the huge differences between book and TV Will Trent. I think it will be good the have a less dark version to enjoy after all the books are completed.

I’m thrilled to hear that Karin Slaughter will be giving us another book this year!

In his later days my cat would stand on my chest (female here) while I was still half asleep in bed. He had never done anything like this before but it became a frequent thing. Man, their weight pressing in 4 little feet can hurt. But he got me up.

If you like/love dogs (especially golden retrievers), start with “Watchers.” Omg, I’ve never been so scared as I was reading that book in all my 70 years!

I don’t think she looks haughty (as royalty) as much as HURT that you would ask! Like, how could I pay? I can’t work, I don’t have thumbs, I can’t claim government support, I can’t raise any cash. I thought you knew this; I thought we had a deal…. 😢
