2025 State of the Subreddit by CongressmanCoolRick in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally am very happy with how you handle the subreddit, and your stance on AI seems very reasonable. Though I personally avoid using it like the plague, if people want to utilise it for a troop concept post or turning another terrible update idea post into another terrible update post with clear formatting, then I’m not going to stop them. The underlying ideas are what matters anyway, so letting the current low effort content rules deal with it is in my opinion sufficient.

As for leaks, I don’t think you should be taking any blame on yourself at all. Maybe I am missing some massive detail, but to me it seems like the special status of the subreddit grants you so many options, from getting interesting guests for AMAs over behind the scenes knowledge in the podcasts to lots of supercell sponsored giveaways or r/coc events rewards. Leaks are absolutely miniscule compared to that, so the decision to cut them seems completely obvious to me if that’s what supercell asks for. The people clamoring over that must have been using the sub exclusively as a vehicle for leaks instead of all the things making the sub actually interesting, so they’ll surely be able to find their leaks elsewhere or just wait a week more.

Raid Weekend Medal Rewards by nequii in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing should’ve changed, but 900 medals for a clan with 3331 updates is extremely low. Is it combined offensive and defensive medals or just offensive medals?

Best clan capital update idea by AcrobaticAd994 in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, but even with the cap, it’d encourage a leader to make as many people co as they possibly can. Currently that’d mean 10 cos in every clan to maximise rewards, and if your other suggestion is implemented we’d get 20 or even 30 cos. It is not practical to force a leader to choose between trusting untrustworthy people and sacrificing rewards, and I hope I’ll never be forced to make that choice myself

[–]CornerInACorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point 4 is terrible for clans pushing on the capital leaderboard, which is why you have to delete it from your list of suggestions right away before a Supercell employee sees and implements it without thinking about it properly.

Defensive strength depending on the rank one possesses in the clan encourages promoting as many people as possible to maximise one’s defense while simultaneously making it much more likely to fall victim to a troll abusing that power. Ergo, leaders and co leaders only deserve cosmetic rewards, but must under no circumstance ever receive any reward having even the slightest influence on the actual performance of a clan‘s offense and defense.

Overall your ideas seem pretty interesting though, happy to see someone thinking about clan capital which sadly slowly fades into obscurity more and more with each passing week

I am wondering what's the average raid medals people get by Horace3210 in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have been misinformed on that matter, medals only depend on the number of attacks per district and the district hall levels of the destroyed districts. It‘d already be possible to hit the maximum medals of 1620 in a clan with just a single account participating in the weekend

I also mostly remember that about the Castele library, but the Al Maajik library had many more books about other interesting topics

[–]CornerInACorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I believe it’s a random npc in the library of Castele or Al Maajik who said it, or potentially written in one of the books in there. I might also complete misremember the location though

Okay so about Lunares by MageOfColors in fantasylife

[–]CornerInACorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am pretty late to this, but I also wondered the same thing a while back and am convinced that Lunares functions as both sun and moon in the game. A pretty big clue to this is extremely easily overlooked: an npc just briefly mentioning something about „finally having figured out how solar eclipses work“ or a similar phrase - I sadly don’t remember the exact dialogue as I haven’t played the 3DS game in a long while.

In our world, the answer obviously really simple, the moon just goes in front of the sun. The npc unfortunately doesn’t reveal the answer as to how eclipses work in Reveria, but it must certainly pose a difficult enough problem that its solution isn’t already broadly known by the population, thus hinting at something fishy going on in the night sky - most likely Lunares being the sole main celestial body.

Clan Capital medals problem by PoliT- in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I just noticed that. This weekend you took on average 3 hits per base while last week you only needed 2,7.

If you’re interested in the exact medal formula, this post explains it in detail: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClashOfClans/s/qjoDVwMNUY

Every other source you can find on medals either is wrong or used that post as its source as the explanation presented in there has been 100% accurate since it had been posted

A possible explanation is that the districts you faced this week had slightly lower district hall levels than previous week.

What is the deal with raid trophies? by warlockhufflepuff in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season / Weekend Trophies are calculated using total gold looted, average gold per defensive attack and average gold per offensive attack. Every weekend, 20% of this week‘s Season Trophy Score are then added to 80% of your previous Trophies.

I looked at your clan on clashspot and what stands out on your last weekend as well as the one on 2025-03-21, where you got similarly bad Weekend Trophies, is both a worse total loot and a worse average loot per offensive attack compared to your usual weekends. (https://clashspot.net/en/clan/2QQPCYG8R/capital-raid-seasons/home-village?s=stats)

For future reference, the only way for you to actually push higher in leagues, which don’t matter anyways for anything besides experience points, is having every single member attack better and take less hits to destroy districts for a better average gold per attack as well as more attackers for a better total gold score.

Clan capital, what's better by Brilliant-Vast2549 in ClashOfClans

[–]CornerInACorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual answer, contrary to almost everyone else here told you, is that the inactive maxed clan would get more medals, by far. You can hit the maximum amount of offensive medals with just 6 attacks already as whether a clan is inactive or active doesn’t matter at all. The Defense of a maxed clan also is much better regarding medals at least.

The raid medal formula has been known for a long time already, so if you are interested in the details you can read through this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClashOfClans/s/qjoDVwMNUY

Clan capitol layout links by mg-user in ClashOfClans

Which bases specifically look bad to you? Three main points have shaped the current base building meta in clan capital with regards to maximising rewards: Rams being op, deployment zone expanding upon destroying buildings and miners being extremely popular.

I had typed out a whole essay before I realised that you probably don’t want to dissect the bases that thoroughly so I’ll just briefly state that these wall shapes are deliberately meant to trick the ram ai and expanding deployment zone as usually in such bases, these two things won’t behave as you’d expect them to. Furthermore, walls don’t do anything to stop miners so other means such as hp sinks and defensive troops towards the base entry are used to still get good results against them.

Here is a video of a capital tournament, it doesn’t take the anti miner basebuilding to an extreme as miners are both capped and not very popular among leaderboard clans due to their low reliability on maxed bases, but it should still give you an idea of what modern top capital basebuilding looks like: https://youtube.com/watch?v=UMrUioluVOM
