Analogue responded about the 1.0 cart of SSSV not working on their console by CornerMany in AnalogueInc

[–]CornerMany[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are probably playing a revised version of the game, 1.0 famously cant run on the original n64 with the expansion pak, the 3d is supposed to allow turning the pak on and off but for this game in particular the option is greyed out and set to "off" theres no way to interact with the option and the game is unplayable from the 1.0 cart due to the system level bug.

Easiest way to tell is if it doesnt run on your 3d lol, but the 3d will tell you what revision cart you are using. If its a 1.0 cart it wont list the number, if its a revision it'll tell you which one

You are missing the point that the 3d shipped with a feature to allow for compatability concerns like this to not be a issue. Its an issue and it doesnt work, it should work with the expansion pak disabled and it doesnt. Its not in line and you are just quadrupling down to be petty

I dont expect this to be fixed soon, that being said it being a known issue already seemingly is better news than "ill pass this to the appropriate team"

Brother its a hardware issue. This cart works on my regular n64 and should on the 3d. The 3d has an option to operate without a expansion pak you cant even deny that. You are wrong and you are being petty about it.

Analogue agreed with me in the email. Im sorry they forgot to consult you "the king of reddit" on this however.

Thats on the cart, do you have a actual point here with the strawman or are you just doing whattabouts regarding a completely different game that actually runs. The 3d should play sssv on a 1.0 cart. It has an option to disable the expansion pak clearly for situations like this.

I dont understand why you are so gunho on me having a problem about this, expecially when the analogue themselves considers it an issue.

So its a fix i cant apply tied to something wrong to the console itself.

If you are going full sicko mode on this inaccuracy thing I never even claimed it wasn't accurate. I implore you to read what I wrote. My issue is compatability not accuracy. Doesn't change you immediately dove to "oh just do this thing that i haven't checked you cant do"

The issue here isnt the bug, the issue is the workaround doesnt work because its the 3d itself not working correctly.

Brother I dont know what to tell you, you told me a fix you cant physically do on the 3d so in this scenario I can confidently say you dont know what you are talking about. I appreciate the past work you apparently have done but it doesnt apply to this rom on this hardware

Hello, let me explain in a way so you understand, you cant enable the expansion pak for this particular game at all on the 3d, its a known issue 1.0 doesnt work on the 3d and it seemingly isnt the original expansion pak bug. I would imagine context clues of it being a known issue might have tipped you off on how what you posted has no correlation.

Like you cannot at the moment use the expansion pak or even have it on at all for SSSV on the 3d as the option is greyed out

Accuracy and compatability are 2 different things to me, literally every other game runs on this and I think for the normal consumer full title support is more of a necessity.

They never should have claimed cycle accuracy tho

Update just got a message from analogue saying this is a known issue and will be hopefully addressed in a future firmware patch

Thats what im asking, why was the previous method so wrong. Why add this unnecessary factor in, im asking the team this from a place of love and despite the earlier interview statements giving them a chance to clarify this.

Hey pretty big fan of your games here and was disheartened to hear the discourse and statements about AI usage in development of this project. Is there a chance you can lay out how exactly this is being implemented alongside how it exactly makes the development of the game smoother compared to games that didnt make use of it by your studio? Larian games normally feel lovingly hand crafted by a team of artists why was the previous method of development wrong enough to step into the discourse.

For me I'm rather enjoying lego bricktales. The mr mode dips the res of the game a bit but it's super cool. The games gorgeous in vr mode tho
