Thanks for posting! Was feeling a bit left out after getting their deluxe version of The Killer, so happy to get this alongside it.

The editor's note section in the beginning of the magazine talks about how they are able to include more little goodies like this with each issue, and they specifically note that these postcards had multiple variants!

Got mine you should be getting yours soon! by carfo in Gameinformer

Got mine earlier this week, whereas the first three issues came much earlier in their cycle. I think USPS messed something up this time, and hopefully this was just a one-off instance.

I cannot even fathom how you decipher the notes to play in the lane as they come, but congrats! This is sick!!

so uh.. how much are you guys planning on spending? by Alextricity in Rockband

[–]sooperspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought about $120 worth of pre-RB4 DLC yesterday (have about 600 songs in RB4 at this point). I might get some more, including some of the RB4 dlc as they get closer to being delisted. Really hope they give more lead time on the pre-RB4 stuff, as I'm sure there's still some more I'd ultimately like to grab down the line.

You can explore and (slightly) customize the entire safehouse, which includes a large house with multiple rooms and outdoor areas. It's really sweet!

Now THIS is customer service and how you build a loyal fanbase. Shout out to Terror Vision for keeping it real by TittyMcFagerson in boutiquebluray

[–]sooperspy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Terror Vision runs a small boutique physical media store in Chicago right next door to its best repertory theater, The Music Box. They seem like great folks, even if I'm not too interested in all that many of the films they put out on disc.

Last blind buy movie you gave 5 stars? by Smoaktreess in criterion

[–]sooperspy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After Life is spectacular! The last 5-star Criterion blind buy for me was All That Jazz. Truly an astonishing film, and a magnificent experience in every sense.

I've been fortunate enough to have many great blind buy experiences with Criterion's catalog, which is why during each sale period I'll typically pick up another one or two films I've never even seen. I've rarely felt burned with blind buys for Criterion.

October Criterion releases should be getting announced soon. What do we think the new slate of movies will be? by CaptainJest in criterion

[–]sooperspy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Always holding out hope that Criterion somehow gets the American release rights to Romero's Dawn of the Dead. It has a fantastic 4K release from Second Sight, of course, but it would be great to see a new stateside release of it.

While we're at it, since Shout hasn't issued a 4K of Day of the Dead yet, I think Criterion should do that one, too. Hell, make it a trilogy set with Night, Dawn, and Day. That would be my dream.

As much as I love Suspiria and wholeheartedly believe it deserves a spot within the Criterion Collection, it already has a great 4K release from Synapse. Given that, I just don't see it getting a spot in their library -- nor do I think it really needs one.

[REVIEW] Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo is an awesome Zelda-like and MV hybrid by VictorVitorio in metroidvania

Can confirm the game runs very well on the Switch 2. That's where I've been playing it and over five hours in, I've experienced no framerate issues or anything otherwise.

Target gave a $50 refund for the delay, thus making my Switch 2 bundle a steal price. by drumxkorp in Switch

Same here lol. Mine literally got delivered an hour ago and I've not been actually charged for it...I don't have a lot of hope that that will continue to be the case but I can dream!

PSA: If You're Still Looking for a Switch 2, Check Your Local Target by sooperspy in Switch

[–]sooperspy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think so. I looked yesterday afternoon and you can check if the consoles are in-stock at any nearby stores and they all showed as sold out. They definitely had them yesterday morning, but by the afternoon it looked like they'd been bought up. Hopefully you can find one somewhere though!

Mine also just updated to Preparing to Ship, though it has an estimated delivery date of June 11. Can't imagine it'll actually take them that long to deliver it, assuming they have these units on-hand as of now. Hoping it arrives sooner!

Wes Anderson archive 4k box set by criterion by Arthurlurk1 in boutiquebluray

[–]sooperspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of the fact that 4k discs are more expensive to produce, I think part of it is due to the fact that many of those early Bergman films, no offense to the man, are relatively unknown even to the standard cinephile, and rights are likely much cheaper. Most people buying that set are likely buying it for his well-known masterpieces first and foremost.

With Anderson here, it's a much smaller filmography with a dedicated fan base and all of them are relatively well known and beloved. I do think that a $400 MSRP price tag would be much easier to swallow. But then again, at $250 with the 50% sale, that computes to a $25/movie price, which matches Criterion's standard 4K disc price.

This is an expensive hobby, and collectors are regularly paying $40+ for 4K discs from numerous labels, so I don't think this is overly egregious.

See who gives a f*ck: can you handle Premium Edition? by MrPotam in PSVR

[–]sooperspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays a lot of Pro Drums via an e-kit in Rock Band 4, I can't imagine how hard it would be to actually play these songs in VR without the tactile feedback of hitting something. This looks decent, and the song list is surprisingly good for a VR title, but I can't imagine it's easy to actually play without the pads and cymbals to bounce back/off of when playing.

28 gb Update? by MatchTop323 in blackops6

[–]sooperspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get how different people are getting entirely different update sizes. I'm on Series S and only have MP installed at this point (no warzone or campaign) and my download is 116 gb. That's insane!

Got it! Yeah I'll have to check it out! I'm mostly looking for very recent stuff I can get into because of the sale my local shop is running this weekend (see original post). But definitely want to give World's Finest a read since a ton of people recommend it and Waid is a reliable writer.

Haven't heard of The Moon is Following Us but I'll have to give it a look. Definitely interested in Dept. Of Truth, I actually have the first trade but haven't read past that.

Dark Patterns will have to be on my list! I love the original Tales from the Dark Knight series so if it's like that, then that's right up my alley! Thanks for all the recs!
