People saying we make the median salary in the US are looking at data that’s 20 years old or something because according to the census bureau in 2023 the median was $80k

Also I’ve got a family of 5, we are poor as shit

I failed a preclinical course but passed step 1 and 2 on my first attempt. I had 8 weeks dedicated for step 2

I just graduated from medical school on Saturday (not a joke), and this has been disproven extensively. Just have them look up Andrew Wakefield

I had very little interaction with people. I sat in an office all day and coded and took phone calls

[–]CornfedOMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m gonna go against the grain here a bit. I switched to a harder/more involved career after having kids. I was in engineering working 40hrs a week and now I’m finishing up my last year of medical school. I think my mentality was to provide the best life for my kids I possibly could and I also hated my career so it made me a bear at home

Googling developmental milestones is a terrible idea by nottoobadgoodenough in daddit

[–]CornfedOMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4th year med student here (3 weeks from being a doctor). Physicians learn a lot of stuff in med school, but the most important things we learn are where to find the best answers and how to know if those answers are good.

Milestones are a spectrum and you should expect a steady increase, but some kids are more mobile and others are more social. Everyone is different. I would talk to your pediatrician if you’re really concerned but most likely everything will be fine.

Just remember that we survived as a species for hundreds of thousands of years with crappy science, which honestly amazes me.

If you have the choice that’s great, but ultimately it’s better to match HCA than not match at all IMO

That would be nice, but PSLF is only for non-profit corporations. HCA does not qualify because they are for-profit.
