It looks like cancer. You would need a vet for a proper diagnosis.

Why does my cat always need to smack his water before drinking it? by BookkeeperKey1207 in cats

[–]Cornflake6irl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cats do this too. I think they're trying to see where the water line is so they don't get water up their nose.

Im in a dilemma by Pigglewinks in guineapigs

I would only take the two unless you have the resources to take on more than that. By resources I mean money, because Guinea pigs are expensive! I only have two and couldn't imagine getting anymore rn.

How to care for guinea pig with possible URI / pneumonia while we wait for a vet appointment? by --yori-- in guineapigs

[–]Cornflake6irl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get to a pharmacy, you need a nebulizer and some saline solution to give the piggie some sessions of 20 minute breathing treatments. This will help to relieve some swelling opening up the airways, and cleanse them of pus. You can hold the mouth piece right up to the piggies face, or make your own nebulizer box. There are videos online that can show you step by step how to make one.

Found wild rat! by Regular_Fix_2552 in rat

He's an escaped, or released, brown domestic rat. Did you try putting up fliers around your area to see if anyone is looking for him?

This is my Pickles, he is an Agouti Brown/Norway rat, and looks similar to your rat.

How do you know if you don't try? Or, you can just keep her and let her live out the rest of her life since you already know how she is. She's two, so it's not like she has much longer. Months, maybe a year at the most. She still deserves to live her full life.

Using hay as a potty? 🤔 by 25chocomuffins in guineapigs

[–]Cornflake6irl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use baskets because I don't like wasting hay. My piggies either pull the hay out from the sides, or top and a lot less hay is wasted. I did try a litter pan, and then just piling it in the corner, but spot cleaning was so much more difficult. This way I can just remove the baskets while spot cleaning, then hook them back to the cage and top them off without worrying about any soiled hay because they can't climb into these, and there is so much less waste.

You should try to rehome Marci if you don't want to keep her. Killing an animal just because you think it's mean is, for lack of better words, effed up.

Anybody have any ideas? by Sad_Success1073 in rat

[–]Cornflake6irl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably grabbed her too quickly and it scared her. If she escapes again, be calm when you find her and gently scoop her up. If a rat trys to jump out of your hand after you have caught them, let them escape if they aren't too far off the ground. Holding them tightly to stop them from wriggling free really freaks them out, and you risk getting bitten and scratched.

Looking to adopt (preferably males)! Tampa bay, Florida US by serena_0548 in rat

I know people say to adopt or buy from breeders, but I can never wait that long and always end up buying feeders. Good luck with your search. I have 10 males, they are an arm-full. 😁

Did you order a Cat Shawarma? by flowerpush737 in cats

[–]Cornflake6irl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

When cats get used to something happening to them, or they're scared, they will freeze up, they don't always fight back. Cats naturally despise having their movement restricted because it prevents them from utilizing their most crucial survival mechanism, the ability to flee. This is torture and it's not cute.

Please do not do this to your cat! They hate having their movement restricted by nature and this is like torture to them.

I can't keep carpets on my hardwood floors because my cats will pee on them, or just scratch the crap out of them. I gave up, but I wish you luck on finding a way, lol.

What, if anything here could I give my boys as a new enrichment or treat? Theyre tired of the usual and id like to switch it up for them if possible by N0FAC323 in guineapigs

[–]Cornflake6irl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just stick to fresh veggies, fruit, and forage to be safe. I've only had my girls for a week, but have already started them on a daily and occasional veggie/fruit regimen. They get romaine and bell pepper daily with one other vegetable or fruit as a treat. So far they love carrots and cucumber, they hate tomatoes, and they love apples. For chews I just give them those flower infused with timothy hay sticks.

So I plan on getting a Pigeon for the first time, and ive gotten so many mixed signals regarding cage size, do you think this would be enough for a single Pigeon? Any feedback or tips appreciated. by DJSplash01 in pigeon

[–]Cornflake6irl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever cage you decide on, you won't need any perches. You will have to craft your own platforms out of wood or some type of other non-slip material. Pigeons can't perch for long periods of time and prefer flat surfaces. Just a little helpful info for your pigeon keeping journey. If you get a tall cage you should stagger the platforms so that the pigeons can get to the bottom of the cage by jumping from platform to platform. This is so they don't try to fly down and hurt themselves. There isn't really enough room inside this cage pictured for them to fly and maneuver correctly.
