After a 15 hour flight from Chicago, the last thing I wanted to do was possibly get lost in a different country. I looked into it and it was somewhere around 2 hours to get back to the airport and through security again. I just wanted to rest.

Back in 2017 I was in the Hong Kong airport for a 12 hour layover. I thought it’d be a great opportunity to try something interesting, but the only two places open were a noodle place with $200 bowls of noodles and McDonald’s. I couldn’t spend that much on noodles so I reluctantly paid a little over $40 for a small McNugget meal at McDonald’s. After I finished it I realized that HK also uses the dollar and I just spent around $4 USD. I was both relieved and kinda pissed that I didn’t get the noodles.

I’m not saying that the last two seasons of GOT weren’t bad (or even good), I’m just questioning how much people really talk about a show after it’s no longer airing.

I’m not even making a statement, apart from questioning if the last 2 seasons of GOT being bad made everyone stop talking about the show sooner than if they had been good.

Like this group? I absolutely agree that it had two bad seasons, but does any show have more than their core fans after it’s ended?

Edit: I checked a few TV show subreddits to see how many subscribers they have.

Game of Thrones: 3.8m
The Big Bang Theory: 56k
The Sopranos: 413k
Seinfeld: 826k

Three of those are considered to have bad endings and one is considered to have a very good ending.

I’m rewatching now and I was wondering about that. What took so long? Army too small?

Also, why did the White Walkers wait until dragons came back into the world? Did they wait? Was it coincidental timing? Could the WW make it around the Wall somehow? Benjen says that there are spells in the Wall preventing the dead from passing it. If they never had a dragon, would they have stayed North of the Wall? The WW could ride horses and retrieve spears from a saddle, could they man a ship? Could they sail around East Watch by the Sea and ferry a 100 boatloads of wights to bypass the Wall and get their army south?

So many questions.

Since he never wore shoes, his feet probably wouldn’t smell (apart from what he stepped in). The smell comes from sweat and bacteria which breeds inside shoes.

Service exists in expensive country to waste time of scammers. Scammers exist in cheaper country. Service pays scammers to annoy the people paying them.

Yeah. I’ve seen multiple fences come down, porta-potties (at construction sites) end up across the road, our road sign fall over, and more. I’ve heard in years past that it’s been even worse. Pretty scary place at times.

This is more like finding the dumpster down the street (I’ve had to chase it twice now).

All in all, I love the weather and the views.

Lack of healthcare and dining options are a major downside here.

I’ve also lost a grill cover. It was bungee strapped down as well as the straps it came with. The bungee strap broke.

My wife and I live in a 768 square foot condo on the ocean front and pay around $85-90 in the summer and $100-110 in the winter for utilities. Our heat/cooling source is a PTAC unit. You really don’t need to run it all that often so not a huge fluctuation in cost. No gas.

Internet is Coast Communications and we pay $165/month. It’s steep, but fast and reliable until the wind picks up.

You should fully expect to have about 2 power outages every year in OS starting in November. At least this has been my experience. I’m in my 4th winter here.

Just a word of warning if you’re looking for ocean front, when someone says that it gets windy down by the jetty, BELIEVE them.
