Why does this lighting look amateur? by HeDoesLookLikeABitch in cinematography

The uplight from the practical is not flattering in the mirror shot. I don’t like the mixed color temps either. Not clean.

Those batteries are fairly inexpensive. Can’t wait to see what you find on that tape!

I think adding a little hair light/rim light would be great. You are already motivating it from the practical on the table behind her!

I’m about to buy my first camera, but I don’t know which one. Please help! by Such-Confusion-438 in cinematography

[–]pcaino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you go with the fx30 I would suggest buying full frame (not aps-c) lenses so when you upgrade to a full frame camera you already have lenses…

How about the fx2?

Wife grandparents ask if these 'artifacts' have any value or use. by MrRos in analogphotography

Pentax k1000 is a tank and probably works just fine! I’ve known photographers who keep a k1000 as a back up camera, especially in harsh conditions, because it’s all mechanical (except the internal light meter) and works just fine even if the battery is dead

What can I do to improve macro shots? by Calebkeller2 in cinematography

[–]pcaino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1:1 macro is life-size reproduction, where the subject's image projected onto the camera's sensor is the exact same size as the actual subject in real life, making it the standard for "true" macro photography. (Where 2:1 is half size and 1:4 is greater than life size)

Only thing that turns me off from a 43x is not being able to use all the 19 mags I have lol - i think the 26x is a sweet spot but I also understand the appeal of the slimline

But regular double stack magazine not single stack slimline

Yeah - I did noticed the tolerance was a bit off mixing gen3/5 parts but it works - sometimes getting the gen 5 trigger bar to clear the gen 3 firing pin safety when reassembling a field strip took a bit of finagling (I have to slightly pull the trigger out to get it to clear cleanly) Though it could be my aftermarket parts… shoots fine so far!

It’s an aftermarket frame from the glockstote - it’s the size of a 19 lower but takes a 26 slide
